I had a dog bite when I was around four that required minor surgery.

When I was a kid my puppy bit my ear and drew blood and I had to have it glued back together.

I also have a small scar from where my adult dog caught me playing with his teeth but it wasn't really a bite, more just like a nip / playful lunge and his teeth hit me with more force than he expected

Cat bites are typically a lot worse due to the infection factor. They tend to go deeper and are more prone to serious infection because it gets deeper in the wound. I work with a lot of cat rescues and I'd far rather get bit by a dog than a cat.

Sorta. As a kid I put my head on my neighbor's dog's back, and it quickly turned and bit at me, cutting me really close to my eye. It wasn't a bad injury or anything, and I'm not sure if it was even trying to be aggressive or if it was just an accident.

yeah considering they said that if I had waited another sixish hours for treatment they would have had to seriously consider taking my arm...

I agree!

No, I haven't

This kid I babysat for a couple summers was. She was bitten by a crazy neighbor dog that escaped. It scarred significantly, but thankfully she had no other serious health effects

It wasn't while I was babysitting, through sheer luck. I would have felt so irrationally guilty

I personally was only bitten by the family dog once, and it wasn't serious. My mom was his favorite, and she had just gotten out of surgery. I guess she smelled "off"- our dog was extremely upset and didn't want anyone near him. Curled up and growling, etc

I, being an idiot kid, went to pet him anyway (thought it would be reassuring, I guess?) and he bit me on the hand, just barely drawing blood

This topic brought back a couple of interesting memories, thanks

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

My pup sliced my lip in half when he was a baby. No aggression, just playing. But yeah I had to get medical attention and antibiotics. He's half pitbull so of course they made me fill out a form to get him on the "registry". He's the sweetest baby in the world. From now on I'm just gonna lie and say it was a neighbor's dog if it ever happens again. Had a 4 year old girl jump on him and try to ride him like a horse. He abliged and gave her kisses. He's legit the kindest, most loving dog you'd ever meet.

I had a paper route when i was 13, and there was one house that always had a big German shephard tied up in their car port/back yard that would go absolutely insane when I went up the driveway. One day while I was riding my bike (they had a mailbox beside their driveway), I could hear him start barking and running up from the backyard, but I quickly realized he wasn't actually tied up that day. I tried to turn around and ride away, but he managed to take a giant bite out of my left calf before I could kick him in the face and hit him with my newspaper bag. Had to go to the hospital for cleaning and a precautionary rabies shot. The idiot owners offered to pay for the pants that were ripped and gave a generous tip and we left it at that. In retrospect, we should have made a bigger deal out of it and got the damn thing put down, but my parents didn't want to force the issue and I didn't particularly care at the time.

Yeah like 10 years ago or so in my face. I was actually kinda lucky since he just missed my eye and he also didn't really tear the skin.

We were playing and he basically unintentionally bit me, so he stopped moving right away and I had his teeth lodged inside for like a minute before someone got him off. Still have like a small scar, but it could have been a lot worse.

The year was 2009, and I was canvassing for the US Census to map out neighborhoods and such for 2010. The attack dogs came out at the sound of the doorbell, and I ran.

Thankfully it didn't go too deeply into my skin because I kicked the fuzzball off, but it cost me a pair of pants, a lot of panic, and the afternoon at work. I was back the next day but was still rattled. And the feds tested the mutt for rabies (which it thankfully didn't have). It was a bad bite nonetheless.

I feel like this is 90% of all dog "bites". Truly the goodest boys.

Yeah I remember it because it legitimately changed the way I handle cat scratches lol. I now properly clean the wound.
