Loved the hell out or the first 2, in the mood for a good time again so let's go. I just finished the prologue and I predicted these people would be the first 8 dead:

I am completely unspoiled so let's have some fun. No idea how big my updates will be but I know the community who enjoys these likes to follow along

Only a small update to say despair searching is a banger of an investigation theme and I hope it sticks around.

Intermission in first trial and they are suspecting detective guy which was my thought pre trial. But since there is an intermission he is probably the final red herring due to his past revolving around the truth and all that.

I still maintain that this is in fact "cheating" in terms of narrative point of view / internal monologue fidelity

it makes for a fun twist retroactively but it's just not how fiction/storytelling works unless it is set up earlier on that our player protagonist is unreliable or capable of "hiding" things from the player.

this is different from an "unreliable narrator" in fiction in that we actually "play as" this character, and thus the player is invited into considering them an avatar. a character they have control of in terms of actions.

one might argue that the inversion of expectations in terms of player control is what makes the twist brilliant: the designers purposefully create a sense of disorientation in the player, having had their own sense of control questioned. I agree!

but as a mystery/whodunnit it's cheating.

Has Danganronpa ever billed itself as a true/fair whodunnit though? Certainly, most of the cases are that way (largely since plot demands such), but it's always been a character drama first and a whodunnit second IMO. If the twist is entertaining and satisfying (which I think this one is, personally), the fact that it makes for "bad mystery" matters little imo.

I'm fine with it. It dispels the notion of plot armor. The part I'm not fine with is losing Kaede and having to play as Shuichi after that point. (Ch 1 spoilers)

So I am on chapter 2 before the murder (I hope it's the magician for her magic show lol) and it just occurred to me how weird so many of these characters are. I am listening to friendship stuff for the maid, best girl btw, and it is just so absurd lol. She murdered everyone who kidnapped a client's daughter and then became that person's maid.

Also chapter 1 made me sad because at first I thought cosplay girl who is meh did it by her initial reaction and how she was talking before hand. Kaede's voice actress, who has done a lot of great things, really nailed it too so losing her is hitting me like it is detective boy. Good job game

Anyway current goal is being super friends with maid and hoping characters I don't like die soon.

I liked when Shuichi took off his hat revealing the signature protagonist hair spike. That was pretty funny.

Yes. I saw that and laughed but forgot to mention. The person who thought of this was very pleased with themselves.

Fun fact: Kaede's voice actress also plays Kyoko.
(Though imo her work as Kaede is a million times better than as Kyoko)
Apparently, she's also the voice of Ann from Persona 5.

And then unsurprisingly, Kirumi's VA is Kira Buckland, who voices the very similar-looking 2B from NieR: Automata lol

I think 2-5 came close, but it had an entire game to build towards it. 3-1 managed to do it as the intro, and that's quite the feat.

This is what I like about the third game on the whole. Except for one case, I actually didn't want to see the murderer executed. In the other two games, it was mostly deserved.

So anyway this topic will be about the Radical Red with my Partner for a couple of days where I get motivated to play DR3 again.

So I am playing on normal mode in Radical Red with my partner and it is hilarious because she doesn't like pokemon but I am cracking her up with commentary and letting her name most of the Pokemon.

So my team right now just past Misty is Josiah the Ivysaur, Fuet the Luxio (She told me to name it Foot but I am clever and she wasn't looking) Stanley the Staravia, Mineral the Lycanroc, Cutie the Cufant (this one is me), and finally Metformin the Gyarados.

The rival is named 'Carbs', since I struggle with being diabetic (dieting now and doing better though!), and this had her dying on the bed laughing for about 10 minutes and also every time we run into Carbs.

Some other highlights include Peereep the Flaaffy, Dirty Rat the Pikachu, and Dillon (Pronounced Dill-on not Dylan) as well as Wingull which is "Ew what" because thats the first thing she said when she saw it and didn't let her rename it.

Oh and of course the Poochyena named 'Cat.' Classic. Appllin named Banana, and Spearow named Rachel.

The naming alone has made this amazing but also I am having fun with the game. Misty took me two tries because the first try the bitch froze my Gyarados but other than that pretty smooth. Bugsy also took me two tries because fuck that scyther.

This is b8 so you guys are sluts for Pokemon too I am sure you don't mind the random update.

It's the fact that you mentioned your feelings about the other chapters in the game. You didn't spoil anything directly per se, but it's best to just not mention anything about future stuff to ensure Chris has a relatively blind, unbiased experience.

I know I've certainly had my fill of people saying "Just wait until you get to that part" and then anticipating it so much that, when the moment finally happens, it doesn't live up to the hype. Ben can attest to accidentally ruining a surprise for one of our mutual friends just by saying a small phrase that didn't inherently spoil anything but gave a faint idea of what to expect.

I think that post was worse than this. If you think about DRV3 it's not hard to understand why.
