So around 8 months of service. Welp, what went wrong? Don't live service gacha games from a proven IP print money?? The investors won't be happy...

This seems to be the problem with every tales gacha game they release. After being burned multiple times I just won't play them anymore and didn't even try Luminaria

I'd say it was a sign that people were starting to wise up to gacha games, but I know that'd be a lie.

Bamco just needs to get their act together.

Hasnt heard of this game before, but looking it up it looks like an ugly Genshin Impact, which seems to be an absolutely abysmal place to be in.

I think gacha games are remembering they have to actually be games again. Some of the successful gacha games Ive played such as Guardian tales or Fire Emblem heroes were pretty fun to play. The gacha is just the money making apparatus

There are too many Games As A Service now and no one has time for all of them. Companies need to learn.

Games as a service are fine, but they have to be better than other games as a service.

I do think we are tapped out as a market, but you cant slap a poor game with updates down any more. The game has to be good

This game made the baffling decision to make a game for an established franchise, make it a gacha, and then only have original characters. Not only that, but even if you did get invested in the new characters, you weren't actually PULLING for them. All the roles were for gear, you could already play as everyone.

This COULD work, but the story and narrative were well below the quality of the previous gacha Crestoria, which had an original party but otherwise WAS using all the established characters in it's story.

Combine all that with Tales gachads just having a notorious reputation for failing. Plus it just kind of felt like shit to play.

I played this for about a week before dropping because it was obvious it had no future. It took a long time after announcing it before they admitted it was going to be a gacha, they were really acting like it was gonna be a real Tales game on mobile for a bit.
