visually spectacular, what really leaves a stinky taste in my mouth is the whole Illuminati thing. They could've been totally removed from the movie and it wouldn't have changed a damn thing story wise. They were a massive hype point for me and did absolutely nothing.

Their best part for me ended up being their wandafodder deaths lul, Mr. Fantastic being fucking cheese grated to infinity, Black Bolt blowing his own head up and Captain Carter dismembering herself was metal AF.

Xavier was done dirty tho. smh. Was he nerfed in this movie or did X-Men peeps just overstate his powers?
(Wanda takes over the whole mind world that Xavier can create and just snaps his neck)

I haven't seen the movie, but I heard it was Wanda who did all that?

if so, she's way OP.

besides Xavier, Reed Richards, Black Bolt, were: X-Men, Fantastic Four, and/or Inhumans referenced much, if at all?

It was definitely better than the first one, but I thought overall it was just an ok movie, not bad but not great.

Like you said the cameos were completely useless. What if Carter would walk all over this chump. Looks like Hayley Atwell was just wearing a big baggy outfit, while the What if Version is like 6'3" and muscular like Steve.

Wanda of course was the highlight, but I feel like the MCU still tries to make you sympathize for her a little too much. Many other villains have "sad" backstories but this went out of its way to make her seem like a poor lost puppy.

He speaks the truth. It was genuinely pretty neat to see Mr. Fantastic and Black Bolt. Then they go out almost immediately... At least Hayley Atwell and Captain Marvel put up some kind of fight.

Like 80% correct

The children are real and fully exist in other universes, her goal is to take a teenage girl's power (and kill her in the process) to travel the multiverse at will so she can steal the kids from another Wanda

The problem is that he does not allow his likeness to be used in merchandising. He won't appear in the MCU as a character of any consequence because they can't make movie-accurate toys of the character.

Does that make any sense?

But hey, it's a Marvel movie. It's an entertaining couple hours of visual splendor and some cute dialogue and a healthy dose of Hey It's That Guy.

Yeah, I know of the sequel series. I guess this is sort of a confirmation that they're using the song again for that show (not that there was any doubt there).

Either that or it was just an error.

That's exactly how I felt. It does a great job walking the line of what can be shown for a PG-13 MCU film, but the multiverse was heavily underutilized. I just hate how America Chavez barely felt like a character and more like a plot device. I get that Dr. Strange and Scarlet Witch were the main focus, but I kind of wish we got to know America Chavez more. She's a girl that can punch into other multiverse's, there's got to be some psychological insight about something like that traveling to 73 different multiverse. I guess watching Everything Everywhere All At Once kind of spoiled me on so many potential a multiverse movie can do.

It's still a solid flick. If anyone is planning on watching the film, just go in with realistic expectations.

Just got back from the movie.

Wanda was metal/horrifying as fuck. Was not expecting the Illuminati shit to go down the way it did. That actually left me agape lmao.
I'm actually super glad all the cameos I heard about weren't in it at all, though. Would've been pointless as hell. That said, an Illuminati without Tony just makes no sense to me.

I don't care about Strange at all and found his 1st movie mid, and this one was honestly kind of a drag at times too, but I think I liked it more than the 1st one. Touched on more concepts and characters I actually liked, and the music battle at the end was great.

i havent seen the movie yet but isnt is kind of implied that the dark hull spell book is kind of amplifying wandas feelings so any rational though processes that would make her realize she was going to far just not there?

so basically its her doing all these bad things but she wouldnt have gone so far to the villain side if she hadnt had the evil spellbook?
leaving room for her to be redeemed

thats what it sounded like from the tvtropes page

I loved that Wanda was the actual villain. I remember many saying they would never do that, but they did and she was fucking savage.

I did not like the Illuminati stuff as it just felt like alternate universe fodder for her to kill, despite the kills being fun. Xavier hit me hard since I just finished Picard season 2 in the morning. I was hoping he'd be the one to calm her down and that he would be from the actual X-Men universe.

But she just snapped the poor fella's neck. Fucked up.
