Not really agree. As someone who has no friends, social media literally offers absolutely nothing for me so the fact that the world revolves around it is super depressing. things have changed a lot and in some ways for the better (like how much more overt homophobia there was on internet communities, and it would often get upheld and sanctioned by the moderators on sites like this. and there was nothing you could do but to watch a swarm of your peers tell you that you don't deserve equal rights) but yeah there are also a lot of ways that it's gotten worse. invasive data mining and aggressive monetization of everything. proliferation of propaganda on social media. 2000-2008 was peak Gamefaqs too. But i thi k we all loved it because 1) it was mostly people who liked being online, as opposed to now, where everyone is online. 2). It was new. Like, really new and fresh. You could talk to your friend who moved away, when before, you either called on your house phone, or. Didnt. 3) it was more of a wild west. Especially Gamefaqs.
