Yeah, this is such a shitty twist.

If someone got taken out by it, I was hoping for Drea, since someone going out with 3 advantages due to this dumb twist would make production mad, but I think someone in a good spot like Lynze going out here is exactly what production wants and would result in them bringing it back.

Drea never shouldve revealed the advantage. Thats on her. Still sucks to see her go, because she was great.

I think Drea's biggest issue is that she didn't know when to shut up about her advantages. It's what turned Tori and Swati on her in the first place, and it's what got her voted out here.

Drea was awesome. That was an exit speech for the ages. Of course she has nobody to blame but herself. Had she kept tight-lipped about her idol stealer, she shocks the hell out of everybody. Instead this let Omar completely gain Mike's trust. She didn't think about what Omar could do with weaponizing that information.

Do or Die is utter garbage and it's amazing that it's happened twice where they got the 1-in-3 shot correct. Monty Hall Problem and all that.

I'd like to point out that we're at the final 6 with three idols in play, plus Maryanne's extra vote. There are too many goddamn advantages in modern Survivor.

Can people play their Shit in the Dark at F6? I don't remember which of the F6 or F7 is the last round for it.

But Omar/Mike, Maryanne, and Lindsay all have idols so... welp, we might be looking at another AdvantageGeddon. That would suck the wind out of the season.

I don't think so, since I'm pretty sure both Danny and Deshawn would've played it at 6 if they could have.

Well, especially if Mike reclaims his idol, then it's 2/3 of Jonathan/Romeo/Omar left exposed. Scary spot for Omar to be in but I guess the easy vote is Jonathan, or Romeo if he's immune.

....is there a F3 scenario that Jonathan could even win at this point, like who's the 3rd in addition to Romeo? Maybe Maryanne? Knowing my luck Romeo gets more votes than Jonathan at that point. Surely some credit for an immunity run to the end vs. whichever of the strategists makes it...?

I watched the episode last night but it was really late and I was really tired so I was drifting in and out a bit. I'll need to rewatch parts of it. I'm so glad Do or Die flopped again. What a shit-tier twist, conceptually.

I think they probably don't, but the editors want to keep suspense, and "Can Jonathan win out" makes for a better storyline. My guess is they prompt people in confessionals to explain the pros and cons of various ideas, and they're just showing the "Well, getting rid of Jonathan would be good because..." clips and leaving out all the times people say "But actually, I really don't think he'll win a final 3, so whatever"

I could be wrong though, and despite people being frustrated with him more and them showing all his worse moments, I think they do still like him overall, so maybe they don't view him as a total goat.

Drea's exit was really fun but I do hope it doesn't become a trend to talk so much about the other players after being voted out. I feel that happens on Big Brother a lot more? But I've barely watched it so I could be remembering wrong.

Sort of like the whole "Live Tribal" thing - it was fun when they got up and whispered once but I don't wanna see it every time and don't think it should really be allowed by the rules tbh

There are tin foil hat theories going around that they're trick boxes and that Jeff can decide whether the castaway stays or goes on the fly. While he obviously doesn't care that much for Lindsay, he wanted the dramatic Tribal that was gonna happen when Drea's idol thievery failed and thus spared her.

I don't know how much I buy that, because if that's the case... what's the fucking point of this twist? It gets in the way of the very moments production covets and I hope this cast has taught them a lesson about that, and that we never see Do or Die again. It would have been a very anticlimactic exit if Lindsay had lost, too. There's legitimately nothing good about it.

Lindsay also should've sat out, meaning only Jonathan was competing. If that was the case, what would they have done? Just given Jonathan immunity without a challenge, and nobody plays Do or Die? Or would they have run the challenge so they could have one, but done away with the dumb twist?

Also Jonathan would get jury votes from Mike and Rocksroy. I don't see any of the women voting for him, however. He'll be 2nd place at best.

The "Live Tribal" crap this season has been minimal, which is nice. I do hope they put the kibosh on it. It stopped being interesting fairly quickly. Drea's exit was great but, yeah, if it becomes fair game to just let it all loose when you get voted out... it's gonna change the game to something a LOT more conservative. Production would probably be none the wiser as to why people are suddenly afraid to make Big Movez.

Frankly I think we are looking at (amazingly only) our second-ever all-male final three, with Omar beating Mike and Jonathan.

While I do think an all-male final three is perfectly possible, I'd think Romeo is gonna be there. He's a massive goat. He's gonna say "I let everybody take each other out" as if he's been a proactive strategist, but his abysmal voting record (he's only voted with majority once post-merge) speaks for itself. He's been way too far out of the loop for anyone to take him seriously. Romeo may also go in the next episode, being Cirie'd.

I also wouldn't rule out Maryanne being in the finals. Or winning, for that matter. (I've ruled everybody else out.)

There is no risk of an Advantageddon repeat. Maximum of 3 idols at 6 and 2 idols at 5, leaving at least two people vulnerable at each.

I feel like Romeo could easily be our FMC loser this season.

I think Maryanne will be our pre-finale boot and get that really emotional, heroic music, then Romeo and Lindsay being booted in the finale (and I could see either being the FMC loser)

Omar could also have it happen to him, yes. But he's going to make more magic happen. If all votes are wiped out by idols and Romeo guys 5-1, it's as close to an AdvantageGeddon as you can get.

It's likely that we get a chain reaction of idols next episode since Lindsay has to play it there (unless the rules of the amulet changed when it became an idol). We'll probably get a situation like WaW where the vote was forced between Denise and Sarah, probably resulting in Romeo's boot.

Yeah there's a moment in the last ep where I was getting a Ricard vibe, and thinking how confident I was in Ricard winning and Omar being in a similar boat.

Omar hasn't appeared on anyone's radar yet - but Drea exposed him on her way out, so that could be setting up his downfall.

Lindsay is not winning. She was an irrelevant background character for over half the season. Erika was only like that pre-merge since her tribe didn't go to Tribal. Lindsay went to Tribal early, but all we knew was where she stood, never her line of thinking. Erika had more pre-merge than Lindsay did despite never going to Tribal.

Jonathan isn't winning because he's hangry and agitating jurors. Mike won't win after being so badly clowned by Omar. Romeo won't be taken seriously - "Your strategy was to be a lone wolf and just not make moves?" I believe that was setting up why he's 3rd place. The only other possibility is showing how a lack of relationships is why he's voted out over Omar in a three idol situation.

The only pre-merge moment I remember from Erika is her trying to go after Goddess Sydney (completely unacceptable, yet wise & warranted)

Anyways, I agree with your synopsis, I can't "picture" any of Romeo, Mike, Jonathan or Maryanne winning, but still can't discount Lindsay though! And how wrong I was about Ricard come last season. Anything can happen in the finale too, I guess.

I thought he was gonna be the Do or Die victim because I thought he was cocky enough to go for it, weak enough to lose, and irrelevant enough to be screwed by a twist.

She's a woman on Survivor. It's always good to have visible goats with you at the end of the game.

Eh, Mike is the only real threat anyway. Jonathan is in the same spot Xander was last season, and Lynze is another woman who just watched as Maryanne killed her game. And even then, I feel like Mike has torched his game enough that he can't win unless he's against Jonathan and Romeo.
