I put Thriller Bark on the same tier of arc as the Davy Back Fight.

Just never did anything for me.

I enjoy reading these comments because other than one piece I haven't read any of these series since I began catching up on Berserk

I finished Carole & Tuesday today. I thought it was okay. Carole and Tuesday were fun characters, and I liked most of their music. They peaked early, Loneliest Girl was by far their best song, but all of it was fine. The rest of the cast wasn't anywhere near as charming as those two, though. They would've been better off if they never met Gus at all, he was a bad manager. I also honestly think the whole show would've been better if it cut Angela entirely. She took up roughly half the runtime without ever being interesting or fun.

The setting excited me early on, it's the future on Mars and the music scene is dominated by AI singers and songwriters. It would've been nice if that actually mattered in the plot. Their main rival was a human girl. One who sang AI-written songs, granted, but still, what a waste. We're in the era of Hatsune Miku right now, you're telling me there isn't some top-of-the-line vocaloid like her in the future? Early on I was imagining C&T going up against AIs doing things in songs that humans literally can't (like the song The End of Hatusne Miku, there are parts in that where she sings literally faster than a real human could and it's great). Instead it just felt like humans vs humans, the AI component was in the background and never really mattered. Ah well. It was a nice anime but I felt it had a lot of missed opportunities like that, plus a lot of wasted time on Angela.

Davy Back and Thriller Bark are top tier arcs because they're among the funniest.

So hey, hows is One Piece Warriors 4, as a fan of DW?

It follows the main story but then comes up with its own ending for Wano

Gameplay wise I think all the Pirate Warriors are pretty solid. I'm not really a fan of the main Dynasty Warrior series but of all the anime and video game spinoffs Pirate Warriors is probably my favorite

Pirate Warriors 4 specifically introduces giant characters so you can play as kaido and big mom

You can't even play pirate warriors 1 until you're at least halfway through the story

I still hope Land of the Lustrous gets a second anime season someday. What it had was really good, but the story just didn't get far enough.

It's probably going to need a total of 3 at least, that's assuming it's nearing it's end which logistically it may be, though it could always go flailing in another direction. The Lustrous ride is anything but predictable.

Well Beastars' 3rd season is gonna be its final one so there's still hope!

To kill time at work, I'm looking through the last few years I missed and making a list of potential shows. Anime has long needed an intervention for isekai addiction, but what's the deal with this random vampire boom? Vampire cosmonaut, Vampire dying in no time, Vanitas vampires, Visual Prison vampire idols... that's just in Summer and Fall 2021 and I feel like I forgot one.

Also, The Vampire Cosmonaut sounds amazing but if it was anywhere near as good as its title I feel like I would've seen it mentioned here.

I only watched a few episodes and it seemed fine. Not particularly interesting past the premise, though.

Vampire Cosmonaut is alright. The vampire racism got pretty dull after a bit though. Vanitas is quite good. Vampire Dies sucks IMO. It's vaguely funny, but has the SHOUTING TSUKKOMI IN RESPONSE TO SILLY ACTION thing that kills some comedies for me.

I've got IRL friends telling me they know from experience that if I watch Vampire in the Garden it's going to make me angry when I get to the end, not just in a "this sucks" sense but in that it's going to actually make me upset and irratible.

They've seen that happen before so I trust them and am probably going to skip it, though now I'm awful curious about what could be so bad about the ending.

Just added a new endless horde of shows on the pile. Let's see if I can find something new that interests me before bedtime.

I got angry at the bad writing of it all, but I have a few guesses for what would make you angry if you don't care about spoilers anymore. You could just ask your IRL friends too, I suppose!

Found my new show: Somali and the Forest Spirit. The main characters have a unique chemistry. A loquacious, curious girl, and an emotionless golem giant. The visuals and world building have this Ancient Magus Bride meets Studio Ghibli understated wonderment to it. I think this one could work.

I watched Somali recently and enjoyed it, so that's a good pick!

For reference, I dumped these until I found it.

Monster Girl Doctor (flat characters, writing, AND fanservice: three red flags)
The Detective is Already Dead (Tried to be one of those "Sherlock Holmes" type crime thrillers, but was wordy and boring)
The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter (stupid "comedic" writing that was stiff as shit).

Garden of Sinners was sub only, so had to write that one off sadly. Somali seems way better than the three I gave up on. I'm not "that" hard to please. But you'd think shows would at least TRY not to sound like they came off an assembly line.

All those shows are indeed terrible.

Garden of Sinners is certainly a very different category, lol.

It lacks the cute kid aspect, but if you looking for the calm and but often moody magical journey through lush environments with the occasional spouts of excitement, Mushishi is still undisputed genre king all these years later.

Mushi-shi is definitely amazing.

Oh yeah, are any of the One Piece movies worth watching?

Movie 6 is significantly better than the rest, but I haven't seen Strong World or beyond...
