Now it's coming out July 29, instead of some time in September. Kind of wild for a game that was only announced in February.

I still gotta play 2.

All the previous games (DE, 2, 2's DLC) on Switch are currently eligible for double points (10% instead of 5%) if you buy them digitally, though they pretty routinely go on sale for more than 10% off and that's not that exciting.

The collectors edition isnt even shipping out with all the goodies.

I put like 200 hours into over the span of 3-4 weeks. It's a gigantic ass game, especially if you try to go for everything.

It's also possible he's just afking mercenary missions though. Repeating 2~ minute missions that are essentially just "wait for the timer to count down to 0" ad infinitum is the best way to max out skill trees.

Yeah. I cant remember how many hours I put into it, but I remember playing a lot I still have to finish before it comes out. I gotta finish Three Houses before Three Hopes comes out, as well

I still haven't picked up Three Houses, mostly because I still haven't finished either Fates game and it seems silly to buy another FE game when I've got two waiting for me. Three Hopes hasn't really piqued my interest, though. The first FEW was alright, but I pretty much dropped it as soon as I finished the main story because I didn't enjoy it enough to finish the side/postgame content.

By contrast, I just finished all but 100%ing Age of Calamity (I'm like 15-20 vicious monsters from filling out the last few quests, none of which give very meaningful upgrades), and I'd still be playing it if there were actually content that justified grinding out optimized weapons (and if that grinding didn't consist of playing the same couple missions hundreds of times), so it's not like I don't like Warriors games. FEW just didn't hook me the way HW/AoC did, mostly because there just weren't as many interesting movesets/differences between characters.

I'd guess they're trying to avoid crowding the holiday window. Currently, Bayonetta 3 is the only probable title coming out then, but we'll probably hear of one or two more at E3 time because Nintendo's been announcing a lot of games with a <6-month turnaround lately.

I doubt it. This is honestly the first I've heard of such a suit, and I'm relatively in the loop as far as gaming news goes. However that suit goes, I doubt it'll be big enough news to actually hurt major game sales. Gamers (which are the primary audience for Xenoblade; this is not one that's being marketed to a more casual market or kids' parents) don't really care about companies doing anything questionable unless it directly impacts the quality of the games they play (see: Ubisoft and Activision still selling games despite raping their staff).

I have this game and I've gotten to where the map opens up some, but... as a musou fan, it's almost nothing what I want from a musou game. I really regret spending the full $60 on it.

It's definitely a departure from the formula, playing almost more like an action game in the vein of DMC or Bayonetta than a typical Musou (that is, focusing more on duels than on mowing down large crowds and controlling battlefields, though without nearly the same skill ceiling or combat complexity), but I really like how pretty much everyone plays and the fact that such a huge cast somehow manages to be totally different from each other. It was a fun time, if not necessarily what I expected.

Honestly, Three Houses is so much better than Fates that it's worth it to skip those and go straight to Three Houses.

Don't worry you do get an artbook (which is the important thing in my opinion) and a steelbook. No soundtrack though.

XB2 only got better with updates and time, and I hope (expect) that itll be more of the same here.

How much changed about 2 between release and now? I only started XB2 about a year ago the issues were extremely noticeable but bearable. Was the performance even worse before?

Hmm... collection has an art book, but I kinda hate the character designs so far... May skip... I love the scenery porn, but based on my XCX and XC DE collector's art books, there's like a few pages of that at best, and most will be character design art.

The one that came for free (miss those days...) w/ the original Wii copy of XC1 is still the best. Only like a dozen pages, but half of them are gorgeous scenery illustrations.

I didn't play it until 2018 or 2019 b/c I didn't have a Switch at first (just another betrayed Wii U owner...), so I don't know everything that changed. But the ones I do recall:

Positive:
Let you skip the animation for the gacha bs blade pull system
Gave Japanese VA option so you didn't have to hear Rex and Tora's awful English VA's anymore

Negative:
Nerfed the shit out of the Ardanian soldiers' "Think you can take me!" "Don't forget me!" dialogue. I'm really sad I missed out on that majestic cacophony of loquacious excellence and only can relive it thru youtube videos.
