If it was ever brought up, then yes, that's how Rowling would have written him.

I mean, yeah, Voldemort is trans. He transitioned to a snake.

(but seriously, as long as they were pureblood, i actually think any slytherin or "evil" person would wholeheartedly accept someone who was trans)

I doubt it, "as written" trans people are pretty clearly something they'd despise due to not being "perfect" in their eyes.

But given the prevalence of magic to change gender, I'd be surprised if the wizarding world in general was transphobic tbh. But what would be and how Rowling would write it aren't the same thing.

The fact that his grandma wears a top hat with a full fuckin' taxidermied vulture on top helped too.

And this. It makes more sense than anything else that the wizarding world just wouldn't care about gender. There's nothing indicating that only men inherit in pureblood houses which would be the main issue.

Okay how about how they literally hate people for really petty reasons including even sympathizing with anyone who rejects their ideals. Its essentially racism how they hate anyone who isnt pure blood or non-magical and if you are so much as friends with a half-blood/muggle you're a blood traitor.

Harry was born in 1980 conservative UK

odds are he is homophobic and doesn't comprehend transgenders

There was a HUGE societal shift in the late 90s when the internet came along

In ANY fantasy world, just like it is in real life, people are people and not just one collective thought. Harry doesn't seem to be the type to hate on someone just because of who they are. Ron seems like he might have an issue with them, though, for example.

It's also a world where you can drink a potion and become anyone you want, so I would assume they would be more open to that. Someone wanting to look differently forever.

But JK may make those people, "Sick," on too much potion drinking or something to get her bigoted point in.

someone born in 1980 would be 42 now. you're saying "odds are" someone from the UK in their 40s is "homophobic and doesn't understand transgenders"? that would imply that a majority of UK middle aged adults feel that way. are you sure that's an assertion you're confident in making?

edit: you're probably referring to the era in which the books take place, which is '91 - '98. so yeah, sure, people were less accepting than vs today. but, still, "odds are" seems a bit much.

Yes

Proof: The government right now as we speak is a gigantic 80 seat conservative majority that dominated the election. Brexit passed and the response to the UK fucking up for 2 decades straight is more xenophobia and conservatvism.

It's not 23 year olds doing that.

Yes that was what I was referring too.

But also yes most age 42 Englishmen today are likely to be transphobic. Or at best "not get it"

Voldemort is a trans advocate
Funnily enough he probably is

It doesn't gel with the Nazi comparison but since JK wrote him, the most evil man in the universe probably is pro transgenders

And considering his whole approach (which I actually agree with) of "Let'e get rid of the entire house system and all be one" in Hogwarts, that implies that so long as the wizards are purebloods and worship him.. He's cool with their gender identity

Yea I'm gonna have to agree that since the books take place in the UK in the 90s, and Harry having more knowledge of the muggle world than most other wizards, most likely he is/was homophobic and transphobic.
