But honestly with this new Batman, they should just go with Joaquin. Make a compromise on the timeline. The style is close enough. Just do it. Robert and Joaquin are great. Fix the costume so that it looks more how it did in ZSJL and give him a good script and he will definitely do a good job. His laugh kinda sounds like Robin's from Young Justice lmao The directing and writing here was just God awful. If this scene were in the movie it would have brought it down by a lot. I don't think there's enough to really go on when it comes to his performance either. This is a rather tame interaction between him and Batman all things considered. Also I don't really get people wanting Phoenix to be in the role for these movies.
