I hope we never get an event like this weapons one again, ugh so boring! Even the spiraling stairs was better since you can just auto like half of it, having to wait on the Mako cannon suuuuuuuuucccckkkks.

Also we should be getting a new Labyrinth group and nexus Thursday, the FF7 one with Hell House at the boss. I'm thinking Tifa (sync2/awakening/dyad/LBO) Barrett (both awakenings, USB) and either Sephiroth or Cloud. Probably Sephiroth since he's not so meter dependent.

Finally beat a dragonking! Now that it's thoroughly powercrept. Decided to try and go crit nuts because I have Wakka AASB2 and got Tidus Dual Awakening this fest. Quina is so strong since I have their Sync and Awakening and Glint+ (have never drawn for Quina just lucked into it over time). Didn't even need to play around the stupid crystal gimmick just punched him in the face alot so he didn't do the megaflare stuff. I never even broke King's Rage.

Almost wanna just try this team for water team content. Seems like it'd be potent. Rare for me to do this kinda content sub 30 on my first try.

Got Zidane's good ATBhax Sync from the fest ticket from beating that

Quina found Zidane for me lol. I'm okay with that. I don't like Zidane but in FF9 you use who you have to cause the whole cast is bad. Don't think he makes the cut on my wind team.

Spiraling stairs was absolutely not better.
100 floors was just way too much, even if you could auto a significant part of them.

The easy Weapon fights (basically everything except the last Diamond fight), you could just hit them a bit and get the timer to 2 minutes, then use the RW, put speed to 5 and wait until the cannon was ready. It absolutely didn't take a ridiculous amount of time like Spiraling Depths.

My Hellhouse party will be Mog, Aerith, Zack, Cloud and either Sephiroth or Tifa. Should be very easy.

I agree, Spiralling Depths was worse because there were just too many stages, and having to do every fight five times. It would have actually been a good event if you only had to do each fight once. This one the gimmick was boring but for most stages it was easy to just do some damage and then wait with Reno for the timer to finish.

Beat easy mode phys Anima with my shiny new Delita sync; failed to sub-30 though (I did get the sub-30 on phys Alex the other day with Quina, so this is my only not-sub-30 one; still need to do magic snow giant and most of the S1 ones). I'm going to have some minor self control for once and save the ticket until after the last five fest tickets tomorrow.

Jeeze, nice time. Did you use Yuna's AA2 to counter the 40% full break or was that just with Quina overpowering it?

I have a Yuna AASB2 at rank 15 since she was initially going to be my dragonking offrealm counter. Actually used the Roaming Warrior chain and Tidus's realm chain despite having Wakka's fullbreak counter chain (don't like 99 cap and yeah resetting the chain for fullbreaks is a pain)

Quina + Wakka would probably overpower it alright though. Tidus was actually able to shred rage levels with king's guard up if I used C2 on his sync which was funny.

Trying other realms is proving tricky though. Can't slot Quina and a healer and a full break counter in many realms so I'll have to maybe be creative for the other one. Barret can actually do this in FFVII. My Aeris is kinda not very good though. I dunno.

Yeah imo the full break counter chains are actually bad because the times you need to use them are terrible times to rechain.

I got Fang's awakening on the daily draw. I think this makes the upcoming XIII banner even more appealing since Fang would be usable if I got her DASB. (Although I can't really see using her for wind considering the competition there.)

Also I guess dream selects are tonight, anyone going to do them? At this point nothing really seems worth it to me. They need a DASB select. The best selectable sync I don't have is probably Kefka but I don't plan to use him on my Bio team.

I got Aria's G+2 (100% fire bubble+QC1) for mine

Nice to have, but it seems like it'd be hard to justify bringing her to Snow Giant over Elarra given how much else I'd be giving up.

Re: dreams, if I hadn't gotten Quina's sync (and if it's available this time) I might have grabbed it, but I don't think I can personally justify paying for dps SBs.

I know nothing about healer meta beside mog good but God I have everything for aria and the quick casts are beautiful.

Her sync that gives a 100% damage shield has saved my bacon more than once. I am not sure where she ranks on pure healers but she is my go to for that role when able

One more voice for "Weapons event is way better than Spiraling Stairs" here. Weapons event was fun and different, Spiraling Stairs was generic battles repeated far too many times.

Also, now-useless pro tip, but you can auto battle the easier Weapon fights; just turn Soul Breaks off, and check back in a couple minutes to click the Mako Cannon button.

Do you have her LM2 set? That should be giving you +30% damage against a target with five lowered stats (such as a target that has just ben hit by Faris AASB2.) She also gets +12% damage with a bow equipped, so getting a realm bow for her should have a notable impact.

If you're already doing those things, I got nothin'.

I might do dream selects if Thief sync or Edgar syncs are there, I need to buff up my bio teams for the labyrinth, maybe Arc sync if they're not there so I have 3 mages with 2 cap breaks for the FF3 Nexus. I know I could 100 mythril select it but that banner is full of dupes.

Also I'm starting to think sub30ing bosses for anima lens+ is getting pointless now, with all the nexus bosses and their easier versions I've beaten I've got over 2000 sapphires and there's no hero abilities I want to buy anymore, or looking forward to. They've essentially become another excessive currency like rubies and rat tails at this point so I shouldn't spend money on relics I would use for sub30 dragonkings and nexus bosses.

And yeah Faris just does poor damage in general, even with her bow damage+ LMR. She like Rikku and Fran were not DPS character originally so they lack the offensive stats and motes to keep up. Not really much you can do but wait until her hero gear comes out.

Sadly Thief's sync and Edgar's bio sync aren't selectable until August. Edgar's tri-element sync is available now though if you want that, it seems viable.

Oh I thought Edgar only had 1 sync and that was the one on the bio Wodin banner, but if that first sync is bio than that's cool anyway. The bio nexus is supposedly pretty easy just that lol bio is a problem with how few relics there are and I don't think 3 cap breaks will cut it with that much HP.

Maybe the Lunafreya sync will be useful? She's the only mage in the realm, though, which is awkward. Ramza's CSB is a solid acquisition that saves me some level 4 lenses (I was putting off getting it because I would prefer Ceodore, but I don't have any BDL for him). I meant to use the last ticket on XI rather than Tactics but mindlessly clicked to draw again. As nice as it is to get two new AASBs, Rapha is a dead character and I have all of Alma's non-lensable stuff so Ovelia stuff doesn't matter.

2 12 banners got me a reks materia, and vaan's sync (dont know which one) and gen2 chain.

Welp, looking at my XII team Ive solved the mystery of why Ashe/Vayne HE barely improved my easy mode Tiamat time they still had Staff/Rod RMs equipped despite their HE weapons being swords!

Also not sure why Vaan didnt have his wcast LMR equipped

Easier than I was expecting; didnt even have to lens a USB for Ashe, let alone Vaans other AASB like I was considering.

I also literally sat around doing nothing for like two seconds because otherwise Vaan was going to finish P1 too quickly and I wasnt sure Id have enough gauge for wing wall.

Just XI, XV, and Tactics to go! And Ive seen people say that Tiamat is easier than XII DK so hopefully I can clear that for the lab campaign.

I just realized I have sync and awakening for Reno (who I never use) to go with sync/awakening for Red XIII and Vincent. I was planning to use Cloud/Zack/Sephiroth for this Labyrinth but I'm kinda tempted to go magic just because I can do a full realm team with Cait Sith. I actually kinda wish the realm fights had physical and magic versions like the elemental fights do.

They'd have to balance out the realms so they have 3 mage DPS, FF1 only has Matoya and Meia (Echo is more of a support despite BM 6*) FF11 only has Shantotto, and that grey haired girl later, 12 only has Ashe and Vayne, 15 only has Lunafreya and Tactics only has Rapha and Marche (Montblanc is more support!)

Tactics could have 3 mage DPS if they'd finally put Reis in the game. 7 years in and she and Beowulf are still not playable?!

Yeah, I guess that's the problem. FF1 would have to finally add Red Mage (even more reason to do it!)

Tactics could go the P Cecil route and make Ramza (or anyone) hybrid, since they can be any class in the game.

I'm against any more hybrid units unless they change hybrid resolution to be based on higher damage rather than higher stat!

The third XII mage should be Dr. Cid. No idea for XI or XV

I think they're probably going to add Stranger in Paradise characters to cover more mages for FF1 rather than Black/Red mage since they look the same as the core versions.

Ramza can barely keep up as a physical DPS these days he wouldn't have the stats to be an effective hybrid unless they gave him a lot of record boards to buff him.

FF15 has that assistant to Lunafreya who's Shiva in disguise, they can make her an ice mage. I'm surprised Ardyn isn't a hybrid and pure physical.

Oooh FF7's banner looks nice actually despite Angeal. Did one draw.

Granted this was probably easy because Tifa's dual awakening and dyad took out like half of his life, this thing hits pretty hard but Tifa and Cloud hit harder. Also I messed up using Barret's awakening 2 on the first full break instead of the star of phase 2 full break.

Easy mode was a quick sub 23.

Tickets were a dupe WoL OSB and Meia Awakening 1. 13/15 one more dupe of that I'll be able to use it twice... but I would much rather have her sync

Took me longer than expected, I messed up and didn't counter full break at 70% because I thought the real one was at 20% like in the 580.

Fucking finally I sub30 physical Kalavinka Striker, what a pain in the ass! Can't believe how bad Galuf is that Tifa couldn't carry the win, so I dropped him for the free chain and brought Gladiolus instead since I have his dual/sync/awakening but that still couldn't get the sub30... I was worried I wouldn't be able to get the sub30 without his chain because my damage really tanks in the last phase with the free chain. But then I remembered I had Machina's dual awakening and I can lens his chain! Machina does so much more damage than Galuf that now he's going to replace him in my earth team- But even with that I was always a second or two short... so I used my sync dream select on Machina's sync. I know I said earlier that anima lens+ are basically worthless at this point but I know we're getting another earth weak Nexus boss and elemental Bahamuts in the future as justification for picking it and I finally got the damn sub30!

Yeah. I've been noticing this too. Seems to be a problem this game has-- it floods currency types without enough to spend it on.

Of course if we could just use anima lens+ on scrolls of honing like the other lenses that would solve the problem. Not sure why that hasn't been done yet. I'd trade 250 or 500 of them for a scroll of honing.

It's better than the opposite, of not getting enough currency to get all the stuff you want. It would be nice if they gave us some value for it though... maybe let us trade them for honing scrolls.

Congrats on the sub 30... I tried Kalavinka Striker the other day with my Bartz DASB but still got a 30.52. And yeah, Galuf is pretty mediocre. I was running Orran as solo healer and using Galuf's SSB with 50% critfix, I wonder if I'd be better off just replacing him with Quina. Quina could give 100% critfix and could entrust Gladio to do the chaining.

I personally would like a second type of honing scroll to be introduced that works on only certain soul break types. Like no one is wasting a honing scroll on an Arcane Overstrike or a Limit Glint but at the same time if we were able to dump things we really have no use for into those scrolls why not.

That and using Anima Lens+ on the Honing Scrolls we have now.

Got the sub 30 on physical Kalavinka Striker. I did the 580 as a warmup... 580 is almost harder because you don't get overdrive. I started with Noctis's fire dyad and Bartz's wind dyad just to get them extra BDL levels.

I'm personally working up the motivation to try physical Snow Giant... I think I should be able to kill him how that I have Balthier's chain and Locke, but I'm anticipating that surviving will be tough...

Congrats on sub30 Kalavinka, despite overdrive this boss is still annoying to sub30. Apparently Thunder Gigas is actually easier to sub30 because he doesn't use the 5 second wall to waste time.

Also I did another pull on FF7's banner since there's a lot of good stuff here (most noticably Aerith's awakening 2) got Tifa Awakening 2 now, which is okay I guess. I think she might be the character I have other than Bartz who has the most cap breaks (dyad, dual awakening, sync2, awakening 1/2) those chases are pretty nice though, kinda odd how she has an ATB sync but that's the one I use the least.

Kind of tempted by this FFVII banner, actually. I'd really love Aerith's AASB2, and every relic that doesn't belong to Angeal could potentially be useful.

However, my Barret probably needs more than he's likely to get from a single 11-pull, and I don't really have the mythril for anything more than that.

Man, that phase 1 is brutal to heal. The first time I got through it though he killed Elarra and Quina at 70%, and I guess just switches to doing almost no damage in P2 so I was able to get him to like 32% with just my dps alive. I ended up have to have Elarra use her AASB in P1 to live, and saved Balthiers sync for P3. I meant to use Quinas astra USB that I just lensed to deal with the confuse, but I forgot to equip it and thought I was screwed. I managed to kill him just in time to avoid that, though!

2/11: Ignis AASB2!!, Noctis GSB2 (dupe)

Thats both a second BDL for Ignis and a realm weakness boost, so that should help a ton for the DK.

Decided to put that Ignis AASB to use on the XV DK (along with lensing Noctiss AASB):

I cleared on my first try, but because of Igniss 25% max up recoil after every attack under his AA1 he died to P2 claw swipe, and I had to do P3 without him for a 37s clear. After that I had to swap Iriss Holyja for Curada, but the next kill was an aggravating 30.20s after Noctiss dyad left him with 1% (the non-finisher hits were only doing like 10k because he was earth infused). I finally got it after a few more tries and having Ignis use Mug Bloodlust instead of Wrath.

16/18, XI and Tactics to go

Congrats on beating physical Snow Giant, that's one of the hardest bosses in the game IMO even with the context of powercreep.

I improved my time to 33~ seconds on magic weak Anima but I can't seem to quite reach that sub30, funnily enough it was Pecil and Ovelia that got me the best time, thanks to Pecil's magic damage boost with his sync command and Ovelia's 50% mind and some other stat boosts that stack with Cait Sith. Maybe if I had Fusoya's sync or a dual awakning for Hope or Pecil I could get it...

Thanks! Don't think I could have done it if Locke wasn't so broken... he probably did well over half of the damage himself

As for sub-30ing these things, it seems ridiculously hard to do between maze guard and the interrupts.
