Cloud and Sephiroth are fun. Zack wasn't too shabby either, he hit 29999x6x3 a couple times there under dyad and dual awakening. (This is Bahamut since it's kinda hard to see)

any suggestions for ffxi dreambreaker? I've got totto's sync and awakening, full break busting realm chain, two awakenings and a LBO and AASB/Sync Aphmu and I just got my shit pushed in lol

The realm chains don't really work well as FB counters (especially for the one at 40%) because resetting your chain is itself a massive damage reduction. If you don't have Mog AA2 or some other FB counter just use Tyro OSB.

You gotta bring a dancer to overwrite the Dreambreaker's def/res buff or your damage will tank.

Oh yeah I forgot about his DEF/RES buff. Sub-30ing that DB was super annoying; I ended up getting it in exactly 30 seconds (which apparently counts!)

In other news I tested out Locke + Quina against wodin and literally cut my time down by more than half (~45s to 22.10)

Easy mode Snow Giant down in about 23s (actually took a few tries to survive the first few turns without wall since I was RW chaining)

I can confirm Locke's new Sync2+Awakening2 combo is excellent. No screenshot but I beat VI Bahamut in 25.60. My previous time was apparently 51.25 seconds (how?!) so I literally cut that in half just by replacing Locke's Sync 1, Awakening 1, and Ruby Bombshell with Sync 2, Awakening 2, and HA2. (And also by playing better I assume)

My kill was 28:00 with Locke pretty constantly hitting close to 2*6*29999s.

Shadow (sync+awakening) and Edgar (bio sync + awakening) were the other two. Shadow's damage is good since he has a 7 hit ability. Edgar's isn't as good since his abilities are kinda weak - I had him using Burnt Offering in the first half to help Locke, switching to Poison Offering after using his sync. It will be nice when he gets his 5 hit HA.

Ah I had Edgar (AA+USB1) spamming burnt offering as well (then eventually trinity grenade) and then Terra S1+AA3. I think Terra was essentially always capping, both her HA and sync command are only five hits.

My attempts without Edgar ended in failure... I was hoping Lockes imperil G+ and the HC would be enough, but they very much were not (and even when I started using his bUSB for additional imperils it wasnt enough).

Hrm now that Deschs HA2 is out I guess I should stop procrastinating on my free sync pick since if I take OK S1 I should have an easy DK win! Im still waffling a bit though because he wouldnt make my water team. At this point I think the alternative Im most seriously considering is Rinoa (already have her AA1+3). On the other hand VIII DK is sub-30d and I dont think Im likely to take on Abductor soon (plus her superior S3 exists).

I went ahead and grabbed my sync picks since there's basically no chance of duping them on the daily (7* is 0.005%) - I took Maria for the gift and Snow for the stamp pick. I forgot Maria's first sync is better than a vanilla sync even though it's obsolete compared to her second sync. Snow's is because I got his dual awakening so now he's ready for my ice team.

I'm really waffling on the 100 myth one. I was leaning Delita before I cleared holy wodin (plus got Locke to improve phys fire a lot); he'd still be a big improvement for tactics/phys holy, but not enough to do any more content (and then maybe a small improvement to other teams). And now that VI DK is out of the way Kefka loses some justification, but I really want to do the stupid bio odin so I can be done with the content tier. Laguna/Shantotto/Mog are still possibilities as well. I'm probably not gonna do Shantotto because I assume I'll need to spend a bunch of tickets on 11 anyway, but other than that it's fairly up in the air.

I got Minwu's sync from the free one, not sure if I want to do the 100 mythril one, Fujin's sync seems good to go with her dual awakening for the crystal dungeon but I dunno the banner itself is dupe city.

Went with OK sync after all and (barely) sub-30d first try!

I also lensed OKs Rod LMR, but decided to try without lensing Arias USB2 or a USB for Desch. But then after I won went back to save my team and noticed that OK still had a staff RM! I was confused why his damage seemed to suck, and I guess that explains it! (And also implies I didnt need to lens the LMR either; oh well!)

I actually ended up with a lot this fest, after the coin shop opens up I'll likely list what I got over the last month.

I now have 5/5/8 for both Cloud and Strago, and I got back my Fujin 8% accessory.
That means everything that actually matters to me in this group is done.

Thief ended up at 5/4/8 thanks to my Strago hunt. We'll see what passives Nine and Alisaie have when it's all over, but I'm not really worried about their passives, since I'm not likely to use them anytime soon.

My Cloud is still at 4/4/8 even though I've poured tons of record markers into that dungeon (and a few manual runs). Usually I don't care that much but for Cloud it would be nice to have max passives.

What a weird fire mage team I ended up having. Braska with both of his awakenings and Sync is really strong though.

I'm starting to think Cloud gear with 5% passives don't really exist. Did another manual run and got 4 buster swords and an armor, no 5%. Same run I got more 5% gear for Luneth and Barb. Ugh

I've been at 25/27 since like the weekend. 5% Alisaie and Thief weapons don't want to drop for me (in fact, I've been getting barely any of their weapons at all for a while)

I have 7 BDL on this team now so dps wasnt an issue (Im sure a better player could sub-30 with my team), but surviving was a bitch. This lizard puts out some serious damage.

Laguna was my chainer with 0 BDL, but I have Frans AA2 so I guess shell take over for now. The Basch G+ could be useful if I ever get his chain and some BDL.

So post fest, what are your best and worst elemental teams now? For some reason all 8 DAs I've gotten are physical, so my physical teams have moved back ahead even though Magic has better supports.

-Physical wind, only one I got a sub30 Nexus boss on (granted it's Earth Guardian) Dual awakening for Bartz, with awakening 1/2 and the earth one, sync/awakening/awakening 2 for Luneth and Vaan and chain on Luneth (wish I had Vaan's chain too)
-Magic Earth, Red XIII is still OP, and I got Maria's sync2 and dyad, those two are just so fast together, Emperor is slow though but he still contributes.
-Magic Wind, Fujin has a dual awakening and her awakening 1, Emperor sync and awakening, Eiko sync2 and awakening 1, Alphinaud is the weak link because his chain is slow because he doesn't have hero gear.
-Magic Dark Nabaat has imperils, is fast and has sync/awakening, Edea is fucking nuts with her dyad and dark sync and CoD is fantastic with her overstrike HA.

Worst for me

Bio (duh) I barely beat Wodin with 1 cap break on Thief, Edgar and Qustis, I keep putting tickets in FF1 in hopes of getting another one for Thief but no dice! Super worried about the nexus.
Magic Lightning- I think this is the most common non-bio one because of lack of imperils, still have to use Y'shtola solely because of that. Kraken and Blue Dragon are thankfully easy however.
Physical Ice- I have Trey with a dual awakening and sync and awakening for Josef, but Fran is really weak despite her sync and awakenings and she's my chain holder. I also have stuff for Celes and Squall but they're too slow to keep up with Enkidu.

Garnet has a 500 SB Glint+. With that, and if you put her in slot 4 or 5, where she gets hit a lot, you'd be surprised how well she can juggle her roles of dps and CSB holder; I know for me she has no problems casting a first CSB with Sync. When the CSB runs out, she has enough gauge to refresh CSB an use her AASB.

With Dark Cecil and Seifer with dual awakenings and pretty much every artifact, and Shadow and Setzer providing competent backup with easy cap breaks, Aegis counter, and imperils

Followed probably by magic dark
Golbez and Ultimecia with dual awakenings and basically everything else, Kefka and Emperor as strong back ups with everything but dual awakenings

There's a reason I've only beaten Alexander. Although getting Tidus dual awakening makes me think physical water is probably up there now too

Worst I don't know. Physical earth and magic ice are pretty dire. Gotta use the Yang + Ursula crew on earth. Ice not even sure I have slots

Hmm, I do have that glint+ already. Will try switching her and totto to see how much faster that can go.

Huh, I just realized that Zack and Lockes 6 attack imperil G+s last only 15 seconds (compared to 25 seconds for say Galuf/Arcs imperil + IC1 G+s). That explains some things on some previous runs!

(Also kinda weird; Id probably prefer IC1 to six weak hits before all my buffs are up anyway even without the imperils being shorter!)

Thanks! And yeah, I didnt particularly want to get Gilgamesh or Aurons chain since I have nothing for them and they dont imperil (though Gilgamesh is my favorite FF character so that would be a minor plus). This also means I can maybe actually do Snow Giant (surviving the initial turns without wall seemed impossible, and having Locke chain when hes my best dps and really wants to combo his sync2 and awakening2 would be very awkward).

Cleared Diamond Weapon with a holy magic team, 1 minute 18 seconds left on the timer! Phew.

Broadly, in earlier attempts at the fight, I either brought one healer and didn't have enough healing, or brought two and didn't have enough damage. Holy magic let me bring characters who could cover both DPS and healing; not with equal proficiency, of course, but well enough. The trickiest thing to plan around was that, as I am far too miserly to actually spend Lv4 Anima Lenses, I was relying on Minwu CSB - which is one of the "free to cast, but only once per battle" types. The lion's share of my damage had to get crammed into that one chain. Fortunately, Hope Dual Awakening is happy to triplecast his "4/6/8 hits and damage cap +10k" Sync Command 1, and this fest provided me with Rem AASB2 to accompany her Sync and AASB1. They were up to the challenge. Build up SB until Hope's ready to go, activate SBs, drop chain, blitz Diamond while facetanking damage... and then, once the attackers are exhausted, flee to the Shinra Building.

These battles were a cool concept, and I enjoyed playing them.

Strongest team is physical wind.
Cloud and Zack with DASB+Sync combo and an AASB. Vaan with his imperil HA and 3 cap breaks in Sync1, AASB1, AASB2. The only problem is Zack's chain only being gen 1, but that didn't stop me from getting the sub-30 on Earth Guardian (admittedly the easiest fight though)

Weakest team is probably magic earth. My Maria is pretty good with Sync2+AASB. Emperor is the only other character with 2 cap breaks, and he's not amazing dps with his 3-hit HA. Red with the recently acquired Sync is great, but otherwise lacking. I should probably lens Red CSB and create Emperor HA2 and go full dps with him. Red will have a lot of excess SB-gauge, but there's not much I can do about that.

In other news, for the first time in a very, very long time, I'm caught up on all boss content (except sub-30 rewards). Using my numerous new relics from fest, I beat physical Abductor (thanks god Snow) and physical Snow Giant (thanks god Locke), which were the last 2 bosses I was missing.

Congrats! I gave up on full rewards. I'm sure I could get at least the 45 second one, but I don't really want to try again... (previous time was 38s with Wedge dying halfway through my second chain).

In lab news, I'm at 26/27 and my last three runs have given me zero Alisaie swords period, let alone PP ones!

Finally made my sync selection (Delita). The tie was broken against Kefka because I'm probably gonna do a pull or two on each bio banner, and duping a select pick would suck (hopefully I'll actually get his sync there!)
