In the same clip he said that whether he would return to EVO would depend on which version of Street Fighter they're using.

Which is fucking amazing.

The tweet itself is completely and totally harmless. You're absolutely right; there's nothing wrong with it.

The problem stems from the person writing said tweet, who has a history as wide as the Grand Canyon of making EVERYTHING about himself, from Youtuber scandals to even deaths.

There is NOTHING he can't and won't use to make it about himself.

Uh, I think it's like 5 minutes into the video, but the stuff before that is him growing visibly frustrated answering the piggie's stupid questions.

I'm not gonna watch the video to figure it out cause I don't want to be spoiled on Elden Ring, I just listen to videos where he plays it.

Phil laying the groundwork for using summons and overpowered shit in his game because anonymous PRO LEVEL PLAYERS dropped a truth bomb of "People can play video games however they want."

The man has the mentality of a 12 year old.

Honestly I don't mind phil cheesing or using gimmicks in souls games. You're meant to use anything and everything to win.

It's when he clearly reads guides then bans people who call him out is when I have an issue.

Him using cheese or whatever is not the issue. The problem is his reactions. He's essentially making content out of pretending the world is out to get him for using game elements in the game to play the game. He is so indignant over people "demanding" he has a death counter when other streamers don't. Reality is that he has the audience he's made for himself and other streamers have an audience that isn't out to make them "suffer" as he absurdly calls it.

If he wants to use "cheap" tactics in Elden Ring he should do it because he's 40 year old adult and it's what he wants to do, not because un-named PRO LEVEL PLAYERS (which I'm not sure is a thing you can call someone for playing a singleplayer game well) gave him divine permission to do so. And he should definitely do it without bitching and crying.

And another problem, sort of, is that he's not playing the game and discovering ways to play it that are overpowered through his own ability to play a video game. I don't have any opinion on whether or not he uses guides, seems like speculation to me, but he definitely uses chat as his walkthrough. Been a while since I've watched it, but I've no doubt that he didn't just get the Black Knight Halberd drop and decide to use that weapon. He got it as a lucky drop and then 50 people in chat told him the weapon is insanely good/overpowered and he went with it. I've no doubt that he said in Dark Souls 2 he wanted to go cleric and then 50 chatters told him lightning spears are overpowered. Or maybe they just told him to go cleric because they're overpowered in the first place.

Again, he can do a chat handholding playthrough if he wants to, he's a grown man. But he can't then complain that people find the playthrough boring as shit.

I mean, I guess he can, if he's an asshole.

It's his stream, so if he wants to play the game in a boring way that his viewers have made it clear that they don't enjoy, then he's allowed to do that. The problem is, he expects that they should enjoy it. No matter what he does, his viewers are just supposed to show up, shower him with tips, and keep their mouths shut about any criticism.
