I think Mario has already been pretty much fully explored/developed in 2D (especially with romhacks and Mario Maker), I feel as though 3D Mario hasn't reached its full potential yet. Galaxy 2 is pretty close on the linear side of things, but I feel like an exploration Mario game could still be much better than 64, Sunshine, or Odyssey. --- [prototype invisible font] ... Not only do I generally enjoy the 3D games a good bit more, but the 2D games have gotten very formulaic and stale. That's something coming from me, who usually doesn't mind sequels following the formula without major shakeups (As an example, my favorite Zelda is Twilight Princess). --- Let's-a go! Okey dokey! ...
