Aphrodite for me. High damage and good defense in one package.

I think you're thinking of Ares.

Zeus bolts seem like the strongest to me.

Athena, reflect dashing is way too useful

I dont play the game but I did check out some guides and gameplay when I was researching it and Aphrodite seemed to have mechanics that I'm generally more naturally inclined towards.

Accidentally clicked on Aphrodite when I meant Athena. Best dash, strong call, usable attack/special boons, sensational cast. Expose is a good effect and her death defiance boons are very very important at high heat with the trick to stack them with Stubborn Defiance (needed to get around 0 healing).

Artemis is the close second since she's just what you go to for damage (and makes other raw damage gods like Ares and Dionysus kind of useless at a meta level).

Artemis for BIG damage.
Dio for smoother runs.

2-3 weapons are mostly about attack speed, so Zeus is really good

Rail- Zeus attack, aphrodite or ares special, any dash, cast, call
Bow (chiron) - Zeus special, any non-demeter attack, poseidon dash/ cast, any call
Spear - ares special, poseidon or aphro attack, Artemis cast
Sword - hate it.
Shield - on-hit special, poseidon attack
Fists - Zeus or demeter attack, debuff special, try to get Artemis

Zeus special can only proc a bolt every 0.2 seconds so it's actually pretty terrible on Chiron bow. Zeus attack on fists is kind of a trap since Zeus' attack boons do not have the multiplicative scaling options that his special and call's lightning bolts do, and unlike rail the base output isn't really good enough to stay relevant the whole run, but it can still sometimes be enough to get there if you get Jolted and trigger Privileged Status or find one of the many good Zeus duos.

Artemis cast is awful. No idea why anyone likes it when the game is full of hard-hitting AoE nukes with utility for casts. Cast builds CANNOT neglect AoE, and it doesn't have any utility if you're not building around your cast. It's good damage when it crits, but if it fails to crit then you don't kill and you don't get your cast back. It's like her only truly bad boon (although her call is kind of bleh as well since it sucks for normal rooms as only the greater call is any good, same problem as Aphro's call).

Personally I go cast build Achilles whenever I run spear because it's the only spear with any consistent output. Otherwise you sort of have to get Exploding Launcher if you want to have a base damage number on the positive side of zero, and there's not really much boons can do to save spear's awful base damage since everything is multiplicative.

I've only gotten it twice, I think. The idea sounds good in theory, but I think the last two bosses (the only real threat) move around too much to take advantage of it.

I dont really have one favorite because all the coolest combinations take place when you mix and match different gods boons, plus better potential for boon fusions.

Pop the greater call while Hades is standing in place doing his beam attack. Ludicrous damage.

I find Artemis' full gauge call the best against the bosses. It does huge damage from a safe distance and pretty my guaranteed to hit. It can eat away big chunks of the life bars and if you have some stuff to make the god gauge increase faster? You're golden.

Hell it pretty much ends the second half of Theseus' fight as soon as it begins.

Slap doom on any rapid attack and and watch [redacted] melt.

Then again, Poseidon's boon synergy wipes rooms clean like nothing else.

Athena. Divine Dash alone is enough to complete a run easily.

Artemis. Green damage numbers is pure dopamine.

Once you get crits up and running, the damage you can do is crazy, and melting armour in Elysium is so satisfying.

Plus her cast is just fantastic.

I've not been impressed by the damage on it tbh, but maybe I've just been spoiled by Aphrodite.

Doom doesn't have any synergy with rapid attacks though? Doom DPS is completely fixed and isn't changed by literally anything about which weapon you use in any way, other than the (absolutely, completely worthless) boon that lets doom stack by adding a tiny fraction of the original damage on. It's generally just plain bad DPS outside of Merciful End, but works okay if you're just tagging the enemy for one hit anyway like with Rama special.

Dionysus, I think. I like the stacking effect of Drunk. Or are we just talking about personalities?

Glacial Glare is by far my favorite boon in the game

I'm going to redownload Hades now, lol

Poseidon

has the best duo boons, his call makes you immune AND does a ton of damage, and the knockback on the dash means you can lock down enemies completely and dash them into walls for ez kills

Dire Misfortune. Which, combined with the proc delay and damage boost from Impending Doom, can cause Doom to put out absolutely ridiculous numbers on fast weapons. Particularly Rama with the extra special attack arrows hammer upgrade

Why's that? Aphrodite has the highest damage multiplier of all the gods and her status effect decreases the damage enemies deal.

It's a really tough call, but I think I end up using Zeus the most.

Zeus special completely wrecks when using that shield aspect.

Zeus attack is usually the best choice for Malphon, and most Rail aspects. Especially if you can get his legendary boon going.

Hestia and Eros are definitely in my top 5 aspects. Maybe even top 3.
