I think only three people on GameFAQs watched the series to completion.

But The Mandalorian is leaving a larger impact looking back. Season 2 was cool for the references. The Bad Batch has a similar thing going for it.

I never even heard anybody talk about or make reference to Resistance. I heard lots about clone wars, lots about rebels, but nothing at all about resistance.

If Resistance had not been... so... colorful(?) and extra kid friendly in its line art and design, I'm sure it might have done better

Also if it hadn't come out after The Last Jedi and been set in the New Republic <_<

Like in my mind, The Clone Wars is for Older Kids/Teens or alternative PG-13 (at times), Rebels was for Older Kids while still being safe enough for all audiences (PG), and Resistance looked like it was Rated G

Apples & oranges

Mandalorian is arguably more solid than the sequel trilogy & definitely more solid than a vast amount of the prequel material.

It's presented as the Star Wars fans have been asking for since the 80's, with a surprising number of groundbreaking special effects techniques to back it up.

For the first time possibly ever, we have the bounty hunter fantasy fleshed out in full in live-action with enough practical effects to obfuscate the amount of CGI tricks they have to use to create that world. Mando is film. Resistance and the like is for the story.

Star Wars, for all it is worth as a multimedia franchise, is backed up by timeless cinematic experiences and extremely powerful fantasies involving technology & extremely grounded roles in an intergalactic setting compared to, say, Star Trek or Flash Gordon, with a more adventurous spin than any Arthur C Clarke or HG Wells fiction.

While they prefect their digital de-aging and digital actors techniques, people are ready for a Mandalorian movie. They're ready for Mandalorian games. And on that note....

.... is the climate right for an X-Wing vs Tie Fighter movie?

The show completed too soon. The characters were developing slowly.

The art style wasn't too bad. The action scenes were stunning. I think what turned people off initially were the anime faces.

I wish George Lucas' Underworld live action series completed production. I feel that template is what The Mandalorian is following

That's definitely how it feels, yeah. All those whispers for all those years seem to have led to this, and it's a hell of a great thing.

I'd still like to see it completed. Although it's said some episodes went on to become Rouge One and Solo Story
