Interesting, though I do like the final product more.

This version has Anakin much more in control of the fight, setting the pace, driving obi wan back constantly. While there is some of that in the final version, there's much more interesting back and forth in the swordplay, rather than Anakon just constantly advancing like a frickin terminator.

the fight in that movie always makes me a bit sad because it's obvious they imitated the style of asian swordplay movies but never understood how to make it look like people actually dueling instead of just performing choreographed steps.

I wonder how Hayden Christensen feels looking back at all of this knowing his career went nowhere lmao

That part with the lightsabers thrust-colliding together was hilariously fucking awesome but that would've also destroyed the tone of the fight.

I wanna see imaginitive fun shit like that in Star Wars again tbqh.

One part I really like about that is how Skywalker and Kenobi break away right before they thrust. In the actual film, they flourish their swords around for a moment as if charging a smash attack. In the alternate, they spin away from each other while flourishing to position for their next big attack.
