Losing my starter to a wild Pidgey five minutes in determined that I was not going to.

Nuzlockes are for GameFreak's piss-easy trash. They're not for hard romhacks/fangames.

This one didn't really seem to be that much harder though, but a level four Pidgey who knows Razor Wind proved me wrong lol.

It's pretty cool though. The first gym in the base game has a Lillipup and one of those trash elemental monkeys. In this one, they have all of starts of their type at level 12 and their trash elemental monkey at level 14. It's also a rotation battle.

Blaze black and Volt white are definitely way more difficult then the base games. Most things are made more competitive but more interesting at the same time.

Yeah, that first gym battle was actually quite enjoyable. Though there wasn't much strategy I could do since there are such limited Pokemon available. Even in the expanded Pokedex, 90% of the Pokemon in the starting area were just normal or flying type. The only others were a couple bug types (useless against a fire gym) and one Mankey.

blaze black and volt white are among the more difficult of the drayano hacks due to having unique setups for the gym leaders (double battles are brutal)

Yeah, I've seen someone stream Soul Silver, so I was expecting him to have a team of six high level Pokemon, but that rotation thing threw me for a loop.

Oh, the streamer? No, it was two of the Yogscast. If you like Pokemon Challenges, you will probably not like them because they are gloriously garbage at the game.

Blaze Black early game is rough for challenges. Whole game can be, but that first rotation battle against six competent Pokemon is brutal if you're doing something like a Nuzlocke where you have barely any team options or a mono-type run where you're using a type that loses to theirs

Yeah, even after grinding for about an hour, I still barely won. I had one Pidgey left on half health.

In related news, Leopold the Hoothoot is really disappointing me, he's just so garbage.
