I'm pretty sure each rift is guaranteed to have three of its "rare" Pokemon. It's just that they have specific spawn points inside the rift, so if you don't walk into that spot then you won't get them to appear. Usually you just gotta walk in a circle somewhat close to the edge of the rift and you'll get them all. Usually I plan the team in advance - it helps minimise tedium and makes the playthrough more efficient and fun. So I know roughly where everything is and what is available. Because actually catching is usually a bit of a chore, especially running around in the grass trying to find a specific Pokemon that has like a 5% chance of appearing. Here, because it was on the overworld, there was barely any tedium at all. They can never ever go back after this. Had a few fresh Eeveelutions that some friends wanted to me to get together for a group sleeping picture but only Leafeon and Espeon would sleep. The others would just sit. Sylveon has the best sit animation, the way the flesh ribbons curl around him was really well done. I've been exclusively using the new Hisui 'mons (at least since after beating Kleavor), and after seeing there were static encounters for Alpha Scyther, Stantler, and Ursaring, I decided I wanted all of my team members to be Alphas.
