I figured out the rock thing pretty early on (I think the game might even tell you as much in an early tutorial). Took me longer to figure out that you can just run from fights by physically running away though.

I'm still a bit unclear about Alphas. Are some set in stone while others are random spawns?

Pro-tip I learned the hard way: random Alphas only start to spawn after you beat the Noble of that area. Serebii's page on Alphas even mentions this, but I somehow overlooked it.

Once I beat the Noble, it only took three village resets to find the Alpha Petilil I was after. Oh well, at least I got a shiny out of all that resetting from before that...

Also mass outbreaks are apparently an exception to that rule, as evidenced by the Alpha Roselia I got from one before fighting the Mirelands Noble.

Anyone see a Voltorb outbreak yet? I think I've seen them for all the other Hisuian mons so far

I now have the following Hisui shinies: Sliggoo, Sneasel x2, Ursaluna, Growlithe, Wyrdeer, Zoroark, Avalugg

next up is hopefully Voltorb or Braviary

I've found 2 random shiny just out in the world now :D

Also just to note, you can get alphas from a rift. Had a fucking alpha Ryperior spawn right in front of my face and nearly give me a heart attack lol. And weirdly it was mere seconds after I wondered to myself if alphas could spawn in a rift haha.

Wish I knew this when getting everything to level 10: PP is tied to the move slot more than the move, so you can just swap a move to a slot with full PP and it'll replenish that move

Now a shiny Buizel right before a distortion that gave me a Magnemite and two Magnetons, plus an Upgrade lying on the ground.

Along with those cracked rocks, there are also certain piles of snow your Pokmon can break

Also the crates and chests on the beach. I might not have thought to try if I hadn't seen one sparkle.

Major spoiler for postgame-
I am having a hard time against Volo. I beat Giratina with my last Pokemon but then it changed form and gg. Need to do it all over again. Tried leveling up against some people on the training grounds but it's soo slow

Hell yeah. Empoleon is best boi. As soon as I saw the alpha, I spent every ball I had trying to back catch it. But ran out and figured I'd have to wait for ultra balls, which I did. As soon as I could make them, I went straight back and grabbed him lol.

Havent been able to play as much as I wanted to but...they just gave me a Pokemon to climb a mountain that I climbed to the top of a long time ago.

Lol is it the one on the beach?

I decided not to grind and instead used my level 85 alpha Garchomp (you can find it in the icelands). Strong style Outrage from him will probably not kill either Giratina but will blow a big enough hole in it. You can also use an aux power and absorb a dragon claw.

My advice would be to exploit his Pokemon that can't hit you too hard and use them to heal. For me that was his Roserade, which could only 3hko Goodra. Heal everything up when you're facing that so you're ready for Giratina.

Also absolute yes to origin Dialga/Palkia theme and Remixed Giratina theme

Came across a Lucario in a hot spring and I am very much glaring in the direction of the developers.

I just saw a group of Machops and Machokes in there. Seemed about right.
Weird question but can you get your satchel returned without an NSO subscription? I don't think I can test it since I do have one.

Pretty much every mountain can be climbed before you're supposed to be able to. You can sorta tip-toe up most rock walls by just lightly tapping the joystick. Not every wall is susceptible, so you have to do some trial and error to find the sweet spots. Also if it stops letting you go up when you're close to the top, you can summon Wydeer and usually you can leap up the rest of the way.

Woohoo, got a Peat Block without much hassle.

When the flicking method fails you can also jump while mounted and then dismount mid air. Note this not only will let you stand on new spots on a cliff but also gains more height than a regular jump.

Yeah it kinda sucked, was able to OHKO 2 Garchomp. But some of them had Poison Jab so that was fine

I got those 6 Empoleons before even setting foot on the mountain. I'm about to do that tonight.

also I caught a Gligar and then killed one that dropped a Razor Fang immediately afterwards. Score!

Does anyone else have issues with the camera when on a ride Pokmon? Specifically Ursaluna gives me the most issues but also Wyrdeer and Basculegion when sprinting. The camera just gets all wonky for no reason.

Yeah, it's weird. In case you haven't realized, you can always tap ZL to make the camera go back to a forward view.

I just had my first overworld black out. Was idling 20 minutes for a distortion, got inside, was running around the perimeter looking for the rare Pokemon spawns, and was walloped three times in very quick succession.

The annoying part is the only reason I died is because my Kleavor decided it'd rather pick up an item on the ground instead of start a fight.

The other annoying part is I lost the Electirizer I had just picked up. Hopefully my satchel is returned to me. :(

Aw yeah, got my shiny Qwilfish

Its outbreaks weren't showing up so I got a perfect dex entry and then went to Islepy Shore, where you can find eight or nine regularly. Only took a few trips.
