I thought I found a skip by doing a really cool long jump with Wyrdeer and then realized that I could have just walked around.

I was super excited and then immediately destroyed.

Catching Pokmon has always felt like kind of a chore and I'd rarely bother catching the same kind twice

but it's been legit fun so far in this game

I just found a shiny alpha shinx and caught it.

I'm guessing this isn't actually rare and is just a thing that you can find lol.

Yeah I always thought it would be cool to complete the dex but catching Pokemon was always too tedious. Might actually pull it off on this one

About 15 hours in and I finally have three Hisuian Pokemon on my team. They do not make them easy to get, huh?

Ive only got in like 3 hours but its hella fun so far. I dont think the graphics are as bad as everyones saying either but what do I know

Just spent the last 5 hours just messing around not progressing the plot again lol

Midway through area 3 so far, my primary 6 are: Stantler, Monferno, Luxray, Dartrix, Kleavor, and Floatzel. I think I'm probably at the point where I should rotate some of them though.

Also Monferno was caught in its second stage; i only recently found a chimchar, and the first one I caught was shiny (which I didn't notice until I was in the results screen)

I'm just a little bit into it, and I'll say that I think this is a superior pokemon experience compared to the classic formula. I hope this pans out well for them so we get more iterations in this vein.

Which mission number is that? Im currently Lv 20 with my Oshawott/Three Star Galaxy Member. I havent crossed that bridge yet to help Mai.

Either all of you are really taking your time or I'm rushing through things. My mons (and starter) were around lv 20-22 when facing this.

They're about to get to lv 30 and I'm well into the next area and about to face the next frenzied pokmon.

Taking my time filling out the Pokdex with these first area mons.

Wandering is so much more fun when you can cross water and climb shit

I must be rushing things, because I didn't even have a level 20 pokemon when I got there.

If I had just been leveling up Pokmon the whole time I would have been low 20s against Kleavor, but I caught a few alphas that were in their upper 20s and low 30s and started using those

I guess for perspective, I'm just through area 3 with my party (of ~9) around level 38 on average, and about halfway through 4 stars in rank. I've been backtracking pretty heavily but I also have a tendency to avoid battles when possible, mostly because I'm focused on doing something else at the time. There's a lot to do, but progressing the plot does tend to open up more things each time.

So before I officially meet the Diamond and Pearl clan leaders, what are all the areas I have access to?

Because I feel very limited encounter-wise right now.

Current dex status: seen 160; caught 137

I hit a wall after completing Mime Jr. pokedex entry minus the evolutions. Met the Diamond and Pearl leaders and seems the next mission is Kleavor.

Party is around Lvls 33-36.

Caught two shinies so far. Starly and Wurmple so meh, but Ill take it.

Now running with Ursaluna, Typhlosion, Goodra, Machamp, Braviary, and Electrode

not sure what to replace Electrode with but I'm not digging it so far

I'm Samurott, Hisuian Arcanine, Kleavor, Kadabra, Haunter, Staraptor.

I imagine three or four of those will change when I see something I really want to use.

I feel like I wasted money on buying Pokeballs because I crafted like 100 of them.

Are you guys mostly sticking with a set team? I'm still not far but I haven't found a single other mon than my starter than I'm interested in long term. I'm just evolving them to max Evo and then replacing them and doing it again with a different mon.

I am getting to the level that I want to start stone evos. Sure does not take any length of time to level a new Mon from 3-4 to 30.

Apparently there's a sidequest that gives one later on. Makes me wonder if there's one for each new evo. I managed to get one digging for treasure though, so woo.

I've got a revolving roster of Samurott, Luxray, Wyrdeer, Golem, Roserade, Infernape, Ursaring, Yanmega and Goodra. I've got attacks for all 18 types covered, so I'll probably just add cool things I see like H-Zoroark as I continue on

Team is now Samurott, Staraptor, H-Sliggoo, H-Arcanine, Porygon-Z and Gengar

Briefly used an alpha Heracross but removed him, might bring him back in but idk who for.

Just beat the 4th boss. Loved that whole area and the more linear progression.

I change my team so, so much.

Going into endgame (I think) with a team of Ursaluna, Typhlosion, Machamp, Braviary, Kleavor, and Magnezone

Hyper Beam change is probably one of my favorite move changes so far. I actually use it on my Jolteon now because of the no recharge time!
