haha Magikarp's path of solitude

the battling in this game is so bad that i don't really want to try the eternal battle reverie

I did 20 rounds of the reverie and was already seeing a lot of repeat opponents. Doesn't seem like a lot of time or effort went into it.

Were the prizes any good?

The path of solitude prizes for finishing 10 and 20 Pokmon were just 1 L candy. Pretty brutal when each individual round gives three of those.

Got my shiny Hisui team up to level 100, at least.

The prizes were not great. A bunch of grit and EXP items and some seeds of mastery, IIRC. Maybe 10 or 15 items in total.

A few hours ago it was only up to Magikarp 117

I wanna get excited about the new generation but I have a strong feeling that even though it's open world, it's still gonna be the old catching system. After this game, I have no interest in going back to the old way.

Been playing this a crap ton in the car on my vacation and I'm still only in the second area.
Why am I such a completionist? Because it's fun. I keep rotating Pokmon in and out so nothing gets too overleveled. This game is too awesome to rush through.

Got Rank 10 and the Shiny Charm today. Still got a lot of side quests still to do, including everything new added in the update. Dunno how much of it I'll get around to.
