The cold never bothered me anyway

It's cold, rain and sleet.

My car now looks like plexiglass.

No snow though.

Snow is better than solid ice unless it's 5 foot deep.

As someone in north Charlotte, it's really not that bad. I feel like everyone is over-reacting because this is our first real snow in years. The ice is super fine though, almost like sand going through my fingers

Honestly they're mostly worried about morning freezing on the roads or lines being weighted down and breaking.

DUKE ENERGY REPORTS 12,000 IN WAKE COUNTY WITHOUT POWER
Updated 1:50 p.m.: Around 12,000 customers were without power in Wake County as of Sunday afternoon, according to Duke Energy.
The utility services online outage map showed reports of power outages scattered around Raleigh and neighboring towns.
Roughly 4,000 customers were without power in Holly Springs, while around 1,500 lost power in Fuquay-Varina and 2,000 experienced outages in Zebulon.
About 111,000 customers across the Carolinas were without power, said Jeff Brooks of Duke Energy in a Sunday tweet.
There were 3,000 outage locations in need of repair, he said.
Duke Energy asked customers experiencing outages to text OUT to 57801.

That's nothing.

I have some kind of off joints.

When I make a fist my pointer finger knuckle sticks out.

A fighter guy I once knew said I'd break my fingers using a fist.

I'd have to learn to punch with my palms.

GREENSBORO, N.C. More than 24,000 homes and businesses statewide were still without power as of Monday, according to Duke Energy's outage map. The state had around 80,000 outages at the height of Sunday's winter storm. Still a lot, but a far cry from the hundreds of thousands of outages Duke Energy crews were prepared for.
Duke Energy reported more than 11,000 response workers ready to help with power restorations.

I remember being in NC when Hurricane Floyd hit. Flooding was so bad cows were swept out to sea and seeking refuge on porches and rooftops.

I was still in Tennessee when the Blizzard of 98 hit.

After a few hours you could hear transformers blowing all through the nite.

Sounded like a war zone.

Didn't get power for like 7 days.

Heated coffee water with a candle and metal cup.

Used alcohol to wipe down with every other day.
