don't need progressive science pack (this one is post-game) but i do need lubricant if we want to win

progressive logistics is very good but at this point i'm almost done and it'll be funnier to say that i beat the game without one of the most basic and essential techs

Yeah I can probably get this when I get home from work. Looks like I finally got the ability to smelt. If I can't get it done, before my second shift starts, I may just forfeit, since I'm super behind anyway.

But the online tracker shows I'm 216/216 now, so I'll just assume everything got sent even though it doesn't show in my AP client

would probably want to take a break before doing this again. Factorio is a lot. I'm so glad I didn't ask to have to launch the satellite with the rocket; by chance, the satellite required 500 U-235 to make, among other nonsense... would probably be easier with red belts and iron that doesn't take 4x as long to smelt though. Who had the other Progressive Logistics item?

Congrats on beating Factorio. That's another game I really like but I'm not pro enough to randomize. I can check who had the progressive logistics when I get home.

Regarding doing this again, I'm going on vacation soon and won't really be available for another one of these until February 7th or later. You guys can still set one up yourselves, though! All you need to do is export a yaml for each game, put them all in a compressed folder, then upload that folder on the Start Playing page. It's super easy, and once I get back from my trip I'll always be willing to participate.

You could give it a shot. In a lot of ways it's lower-skill to beat it like this. I had assembly times changed so I had to calculate/estimate new ratios, so my earlier experience wasn't as relevant for a lot of it, and you'll probably get overpowered in combat much more quickly than you would otherwise, so clearing nests would be relatively trivial. Plus you can just ignore most of the tech tree if you won't feel guilty about depriving Tangy of 5 coal, so you can have a less efficient factory and still be fine if you've ever built your way to purple/yellow science before

I've just gotten it. How would I go about checking my own hints? I need to look for a few of my own items which are likely in my game but I do not have the patience to go through some of these dungeons twice.

I would also be up for doing this again! But probably in LttP so I'm doing a game that I can finish in a couple hours rather than seven or eight >_>

If you have the Archipelago text client installed (not sure if OoT requires it) you can connect to the server in there, then put in your player name and you can do !hint commands there.

I checked the three items you mentioned in the spoiler sheet but sadly only remember two of them. Boomerang is in Razenclaf's world, your Mirror Shield was a Golden Skulltula reward. I don't remember the third but it was in your world.

Use !hint (item name) in the AP client e.g !hint megaton hammer should work for your hammer. !hint hammer might work on its own - Don't know how robust the system is.

I think just !hint on its own gives you a help menu

Oh god, skull reward is awful... I searched hammer for it to be one of the only checks I can't do in Shadow (which I'm currently running through) because I'm missing ZL... I'll probably grab all my songs, finish what I can in Shadow and do Fire then forfeit so everyone else can finish up because I've got a chunky game which is definitely blocking a lot.

You can forfeit too though, you got most of the way through and I understand the annoyance of needing items to get items.

Honestly, Sheep, it seems to me that the best way to play OoT here is to do it on a shorter set of settings. Something like 5 Dungeon, maybe?

Just need to do a lot of experimenting to see what works and what doesn't. Adding more players would necessarily slow things down for everybody based on availability, so playing a longer mode/game theoretically wouldn't matter as much, I think. For example, I know the Archipelago discord is in the middle of a 400-world async right now (With some people playing multiple worlds), and in that you can probably play whatever you want without holding anybody back as long as you're willing to dedicate an hour or so a day to it.

Yeah OoT definitely needs to be shortened or changed in some way to be viable with smaller games (I feel like it may be similar for Lolo's game, because I noticed both of us taking up the majority of item slots and very often with stuff that was junk on my end or which the game told me was not important for Lolo). I've played almost nothing from this list aside from aLttP so I wasn't really sure on the length of others, but I'd probably be needing two-three hours a day to keep up with everyone else. I'll leave it here I think, because I am ridiculously rusty and don't feel like grinding it out. I'd like to get into aLttP multis when I have a bit more free time though, so it's taught me a bit about what to expect!

The games definitely aren't all equal in length or item count, but a lot of it comes down to familiarity too. Subnautica should be one of the longer ones but I made notes for all my locations, charted optimal paths, worked out exactly how many of each resource to pick up, and now I have it down to about four hours!

Anyway, thanks for participating. They're still adding new games so maybe another you like will get added in the future too. I've seen chatter on their discord for Terraria and Pokemon Crystal, both of which I think would be fun.

Yeah, I definitely shoulda taken one I was a bit more familiar with rather than having just dabbled in a couple times, but I thought it would be a bit overcrowded if a bunch of people were doing Link to the Past. My seed wasn't great but that comes with the territory and you're always going to run into that with games which hard require a single item. Still fun to try OoT rando out again for the first time in a while! Crystal would be fun. Would it be key item randomiser like GDQ?

Terraria seems pretty intriguing (At least until I remember that Fishing achievements exist) and may teach me to play it quickly instead of slow-rolling everything. Or it's actually just mostly reasonable if you can use Journey mode for duplication and potentially godmode. Though, it makes me wonder what would actually be randomized to send to the Terraria player... I should check on how Minecraft actually does it since it'd likely be very, very similar

Pokemon Crystal just sounds pretty great regardless of the details though.

I have no idea how any future games might work, only that they're being seriously discussed. I did a search on the discord for Cave Story and Hollow Knight.

One of the mods on the discord (maybe a dev too, I dunno) said this, which at least means they're thinking about it:
"This question implies absolutely nothing but: what would be a good (currently existing, in-game) sprite for an archipelago item in hollow knight?"

As for Cave Story:
"Afaik cave story is already being implemented into randovania so while possible I wouldn't get your hopes up too high"

My read on this is that Terraria has stalled out (Checking the discord, it seems the guy developing it is semi-MIA), and Slime Rancher/Pokemon are the only other games seeing any amount of work since the rest are just in Proposed status and have no contributors listed (Aside from... Illusion of Gaia of all games)

I have seen VVVVVV talk on the discord though, so I do think this sheet may not be fully up to date or I've misunderstood that talk a bit.

Yeah, just checked discord further. It looks like the VVVVVV implementation could've been included in the most recent AP release alongside Rogue Legacy, but the dev behind it opted not to because he didn't think it was polished/bug-squashed enough. So yeah, that sheet definitely isn't gospel, but is good to show what people are thinking about probably

I'm wondering if it was weird that most of the super critical progression items for my game, were in my game, actually. Because the Gauge, Wheel, and two of the three Diamond Eyes, are strictly needed for the third continent. And all of those items were shuffled into my game specifically (the third diamond eye was on

The Bronze Axe and Knight Buster (second and third axes respectively) are also both necessary for 100% (bronze breaks down walls in the pyramid, Knight Buster breaks down some different walls later. Weird that the ax stronger than both of these doesn't do either.

Part of this being randomized is that you have access to the flying machine as soon as you find one of the landing points; so you can access most of the world from those places. So notably it gives you access to the whole first continent, the whole second continent, and the tail end of the third continent (of which there's a limit to how far back you can go on it, which makes the ivor half basically locked til you finish the boss of the second continent, which requires two Diamond eyes)

I would love to do another one of these sometime (soon), but yes, playing an RPG that's likely going to take 10+ hours when people are playing games that would normally finish quickly may not! I was pushing myself pretty hard yesterday to get Reg's hammer, for example, and it sounds like I found quite a few things critical for other players in the meanwhile, while the vast majority of things coming out from my game? Just alchemy ingredients, which I could buy, or sniff out, pretty much anywhere.

Anyway, enough blathering.

Our multiworld is officially complete. Thanks for participating everyone, I enjoyed it a lot.

As I said earlier, I can't participate in another one for about three weeks since I'm going away, but anytime after February 6th I'm 100% willing. You can all feel free to organize another without me before that, though!

If there is still interest in three weeks, I'd like to do Minecraft. I just got done looking through all the advancements and think it would be fun to give it a try. There are ten or so I doubt I'll ever be able to do (like, the beacon ones require beating the wither. Two years ago me and ten friends tried to kill the wither and all we managed was dying while it destroyed large portions of the countryside) but a lot of them seem reasonable, and once I got enough progression sent my way I would of course slay the Ender Dragon. I could also do a second world playing Subnautica, no reason why we should feel limited to one game if someone is willing to keep up with two. But we'll see where people are at in three weeks for that one.

For now, if anyone wants to do a multiworld in the near future, someone can start putting something together. You might want to make a more official topic for Archipelago too, not sure how many new players you'll find 200 posts deep into an existing topic.

I figured I'd mention, the Archipelago discord is doing another big async soon, like the previous 400 world one. The deadline for submitting custom yamls is the 6th if anyone is interested. I'm still debating because last time it was lame getting most Subnautica checks without even a seaglide and then waiting forever for my laser cutter, but other games might work better.

As for us having another one, I won't be home until late Sunday and that might not be the best time to start. Either we start then anyway and play through the week, someone else can generate the multiworld for this weekend and I'll either sit out or have a late start, or we can gather people next week and start the following weekend.
