Does this surprise you?

A slim majority of Canadians support the latest round of restrictions and other government imposed restrictions as Omicron is ravaging the country.

56% of people support the restrictions and that their government is making the right restrictions to limit the spread of the virus while 31% said they don't believe Omicron poses a serious health risk to most of those infected and should leave things fully open while another 14% is unsure

There is a growing level of fatigue among canadians when it comes to lockdowns including those who are fully vaccinated though the support for mandatory vaccination is very high

62% of people were satisfied with Justin Trudeau's handling of COVID-19 which is a drop of 5% since December and those results are the exact same for provincial governments who also saw a decline of 5%

64% supported vaccine passports for malls and other retail outlets excluding grocery stores and 2/3 support creating separate areas in hospitals and clinics for unvaxxed patients.

There is hope from canadians that this will be the last of lockdowns and that the virus will not mutate any worse than it has as time will tell and herd immunity can be achieved

Now what is Biden doing wrong that Trudeau is doing right?

Since we have so many political parties up here, it only takes about 35% to get a majority, so 62% is a massive majority.

I'm indifferent to him but he didn't go hard enough absolutely.

If by "create separate areas" you mean "order a couple extra dumpsters," I'm game.

Less outright murderously, I do think hospitals should be capping the percentage of their beds and ICUs that can be occupied by unvaccinated Covid patients. Vaccinated and non-covid patients should not be getting turned away because of risks the unvaxxed chose to take.

FTFY. I know you think you sound really intelligent and principled when you say things like that, but it's really not a very sensible position to have.

Triage considerations already take that into account.

Depends where you are. Around here, there's been no formal declaration of a maximum number of beds for unvaxxed people, which I think really needs to happen for the sake of protecting people that can't be so directly blamed for their medical needs.

Being vaccinated affects your survival chances and can thus be taken into account when performing triage.
