I started noticing that the grocery stores in my area are beginning to have empty shelves again.

Oh no, my empty!

Oh yes, my full!

Not really Or not everywhere, I should say... I guess a few places were. But that could be for other reasons, as well Also, some shelves were full. But the variety was low. For example, I was looking for a specific frozen meal. While the area where the meal would be was full, it had very few choices to choose from

I heard someone complaining one Kroger in the area was empty, but the one I live closest to is fine.

I'm at the tip of the spear it seems. It's not an exaggeration to say that dark times are ahead. This is the time to ready yourself for the true storm.

No, outside of bottled water; but I hear it's bad in major cities.

Actually now that I think of it, I don't think they had any butter at all last time I got groceries that was weird.

I've noticed some products and brands vanishing but things always take their place so the shelves are still full.

An important thing I'm trying to remind friends and family about currently is that if you need help, reach out for it. The system is nearing a breaking point but there are resources available for those truly in need.

And don't do crystal. That shit just fucks people up and makes them scary. If it doesn't grow out of the ground or isn't prescribed by a respected MD then I don't think humans should trust it

They're expecting snow and/or ice this weekend so people are buying up bread, milk, and beer

The empty keeps getting emptier every undefined.

Some items were pretty low when I went to Aldi after work today, but we're expecting a decent-sized snow storm tomorrow. The store was much busier than usual, they had to open three lanes!

No regular milk in the last two stores I went to. Haven't noticed anything else.

Pasta is usually low.

It's about to get way worse. China started shutting down their ports today. Buttigieg is following suit with ours.

Rural southern town here. I shop once a week and have noticed for the past couple of weeks we have very little pasta, frozen chicken ( by the bag) and certain canned items are missing or running low. Usually I can just substitute something. I was surprised at the chicken being entirely empty and wondered if there was a recall.

No there is a general meat shortage and chicken is the most popular meat. I've been getting frozen salmon I think it might be cheaper than chicken now lol.

I have noticed that some things are harder to get over the last year and a half

and I dont flip out and scream at people about it like some people at my job do

I'm on a fixed income, live in a rural area, and can only go to the store once a month; last time I went was before Christmas, so I have no idea what the stores look like.

My shelves are fairly empty.

It's not that it's a shortage of meat, there's a shortage of people to process the meat; the excess was just burned or buried rather than allow some poors to have access to low cost or free unprocessed meat.

No. I mean, I occasionally catch things out of stock but it's always been that way.

I think Costco is hoovering up all the chicken. They literally opened an entire processing plant in Nebraska just for Costco's rotisserie chickens.
