59 y/o Gabriale Rene St. Constantine (no picture), a US Citizen from Portland, Oregon who illegally entered Canada again 20 minutes AFTER being DEPORTED back to the states has lost an appeal of his 9 month jail term he received back in 2020!!

He plead guilty to one count of returning to Canada without authorization after being deported under the immigration and refugee protection at who was sentenced to 9 months in jail less 47 days for time served.

The judge didn't accept his explanation that he entered Canada because POLITICAL UNREST and violence in his state claiming "As a Caucasian citizen of the United States of Jewish faith" who experienced intimidation, harassment and threats or violence there because of his race and religion from BLM protests who were targeting white people and he feared he would be KILLED.

He also felt given his age and medical conditions he would be much safer from COVID in canada than the US but the judge said he would have been well aware that COVID is a global pandemic

She called his actions selfish and he flagrantly disregarded canadian law by re-entering canada 20 minutes after he left and ignored health restrictions and protocols.

Subject to 2 previous deportation orders, he was arrested by Canada Border Services Agency officers and taken to the Pacific Highway Processing Centre where he pursued but later abandoned his refugee claim

9 hours later after that arrest, a 3rd deportation order was issued and was escorted to the border where he walked right back in 20 minutes later and was held in custody where a near year long prison sentence was served.

Unlike the US, Canada takes illegal immigration seriously and they're not as big on asylum.

So in 7 1/2 months he has to do it again? I don't see how making him stay in Canada is doing anything other than giving into his request to stay in Canada.

tbh, a Canadian jail is probably safer than Portland.
