I've never liked the idea of calling him a RM. That'd be like calling Dark Man from MM5 or Proto Man/Break Man one, just because they are bosses with Man at the end. They don't have a face on the stage select with a dedicated stage that concludes with killing them and taking their power. That to me is the true definition of a RM.

Theres a lore-based argument that Proto Man and even Mega Man himself and Roll should be considered Robot Masters, given that they share the same type of serial number designation as the bosses of Mega Man 1 (as seen in the ending of Mega Man 3). Fake Man and Dark Man dont have any official serial number, though.
