Yeah it's pretty great. And the community seems dope too. I only just ran into my first griefer. Finished a drilldozer escort run and this dude grabs the core and starts running away with it instead of depositing it into the mule. Luckily I had my satchel charges saved...

So yeah I'm a drilla gorilla. Especially since it works well with my PSN (shown in the OP). But I kinda want to get into Engineer more but man the shotgun as a primary annoys me a bit <__< Are any of the alternate primary weapons great too or is the shotty the best?

i think his electric smg is his best primary, but honestly all three of the engineer's primaries are pretty much the bottom three in the game

It was a bit underwhelming at first but it's been clicking with me. The progression system, the season/battle pass being free, the sense of comraderie. Just super fun

I've been playing with randoms and been doing fine. The objective based nature of the game does make some lobbies frustrating but they have been few for me so far.

Man I'm trying hard to power through with Engineer but it's so...bleh. The turrets are cool and so is the grenade launcher but...yeah.

yeah, engi's not in a great place at the moment, once you promote your character, you can start getting overclocks that are like big special mods for your weapons, you'll find that all his suck, too. for example, the shotgun's best overclock is the one that gives it more ammo... that's it. no unique playstyle change, no special effects, no penetrating shots or anything, just ammo

Eh, disagree. Magnetic pellet alignment for them sweet range kills.

I do agree that Engi's primaries are lackluster compared his secondaries.

Me as well. It's insane. I am rank 17 Scout with most upgrades and I'm wildly addicted. I've only had one griefer, some jerk Engineer that just kept loading the escape pod with his damn foam platforms. They should definitely make that NOT work when you are in the drop pod.

The second Scout primary is garbage, the single shot rifle. Blech. I'm working towards what I assume is the next secondary gun with twin SMG's.

Holy shit just not my morning. So many terrible lobbies I've gotten into. Just did an escort where the idiots kept taking all the resupplies so of course I ran out of ammo (for my turrets) when defending the drilldozer at the end.

I'm level 9 with the Engineer and trying to get to 10 to unlock the smg but I've gotten like...3-4 terrible lobbies in a row

i mean it works, but... none of them really add anything unique or particularly fun to the gun, is my point. certainly compared to the newer ones. scout's AR is in the same boat, the plasma carbine completely outclasses it

So would you guys recommend rushing one class to 25 so I can start unlocking weapon cores? I've kinda just been levelling each class evenly, but driller more than the others.

I've focused solely and completely on Scout just cause I find them enjoyable as hell. Seems like just pick one you like and go for it all the way imo

I would say yes. It'll also open up deep dives for your driller for additional cores.

Felt good to be back to Gunner. I tried the armor break mod on the minigun and went into a dreadnaught elimination mission. Fucking melted em. Gonna unlock the autocannon tomorrow after work.

Good thing I use the friendly fire reduced damage passive lol

I'm blasting my way closer to level 25 so I can check out what being promoted is, if anyone here else games on PlayStation and wants to team up let me know. I am a driller and have no interest in talking lol

Sigh. Did a run with a buncha noobs. Was actually going well until we had to stay in a triangulation zone. Idiots kept on staying outside and dying outside of it so progress was slow despite me pinging the damn zone a million times. Eventually we got swarmed and mission failed.

Can't count the number of games I've had since yesterday where we were only 1 or 2 away from completion when someone calls the drop pod. Am I missing something (are they not actually worth doing), or are these people just trying to rush?

I've actually had an opposite experience. Most, maybe 80% of my teams, have stuck around to do secondary objectives. I actually make it a mission myself to kinda aim for secondaries while my team goes for the main. Except for fossils. That's one I don't really bother with cuz they don't stand out as much as other secondaries which makes finding em a pain lol

totally random, all you can do is pick the class you want a core for, so pick driller if it lets you

Haven't done any deep dives yet. Doing the assignment for breach the core and I'm getting some overclock matrixes along the way.

Starting to run outta credits/mats tho. Too many cool weapons and mods to unlock lol

Lol yeah. I try to divvy it up and play Gunner/Scout too but the cryo cannon is just too damn fun to use.
