I only watch The Olympics.

I don't watch the gimmick event centered around ice and snow that's called an "olympics"

The summer games at least has Greco-Roman wrestling, which I always mean to watch. The winter games never have anything I mean to watch.

I guess Winter by a lot. I never really cared for "track and field" stuff.

Hockey, Luge, Bobsled, Speedskating, Ski jumping, Snowboarding, Alpine Skiing

I think a lot of winter related events are a fair bit more exciting than summer because almost all of them tend to have speed as a major component (also makes them more dangerous though).

Haven't cared about either since the 90s.

As a kid, I kind of liked the Winter Olympics better because they were more exotic for me (I never really did winter sports or activities like the ones they include, but I did run and play games like the summer competitions). As I got older I sort of lost interest in those but related more to the Summer Olympics (because I was running track as a teenager). But I don't think I've watched either in about 25 years now.

Yes, I love to ice skate and it's cool to watch since I would love to do advanced stuff like you see.

This is a bad take. Ice and snow athletics are just as legitimate as moderate climate athletics. Logistics are the only reason they're hosted separately.

They could have some indoor sports w/ no snow/ice aspect, like basketball, wrestling, and indoor volleyball, in the Winter games, but they don't.

Not my fault they present themselves as a gimmick.
Meanwhile The Olympics actually feels like a broad display of all kinds of sports w/o any weirdly specific theme, and includes all of the original events from the Greek games (aside from Pankration, which tragically still is not included, but if it ever is, it's going to be in the Summer).

This is extremely arbitrary, and to what end, so they don't brand themselves as Winter? It still has to be a separate event in a cold climate (good luck selling that to your indoor athletes), and based on the rest of your comment you'll still look at it as lesser for not being attached to the Summer event.

If they did include those sports, others would complain those events have nothing to do with winter.

Also, Im not sure the inclusion of snow or ice is weirdly specific when it comes to winter.

Again, I disagree. More details below!

And this is exactly my point!
While there's a few sports in The Olympics that are clearly summer-related, like baseball, swimming, and beach volleyball, those do not define the games. What the hell does wrestling, or table tennis, or (indoor) trampoline, or karate have to do specifically with summer? Nothing, and that's the whole point. It's not just some gimmick, it's an actual broad event representing all kinds of sports from across the world, and includes the legacy of the original Olympic sports.

You can't imagine the "winter games" as anything other than being winter-related w/ snow and ice. That's why I'm saying it's a gimmick.

Yeah, I dunno. I used to enjoy the Olympics, although I can't really say why in retrospect. It used to seem somewhat patriotic, I guess, which was fun back in the day. Now...I'm not sure what the point in being good at any of these sports is in the first place, and I don't know why I should care about some people who are good at them who happen to be from my country.

And they only show the sports the US is good at. And swimming (one of those sports) is the most boring sport in the world to watch. And judged sports are generally lame across the board. And synchronized anything isn't a real sport (anyone ever see anyone dive in a synchronized fashion for fun)?

More power to those who have a passion for those things, but the fact that some of them are from my country is no longer much motivation to watch.
