Welcome contestants to the postseason! You may already know the drill but just in case, let's go over it. You will pick the games as in the regular season, but this time I'll need everyone to pick tiebreakers, as the TOP 4 will advance to the divisional rd, and fewer games = higher chance of ties. Since I am not participating this year, you may PM your picks to me rather than post them in the topic. You can post them here if you want but, competitive edge and all that. Also, you are allowed to change picks as in the reg season before the kickoff time, but if possible I would prefer a single PM with all your picks, just to cut down on clutter. But do what you gotta do. Heeeere we go!

Tiebreaker 1: How many passing TDs will there be in NE/BUF?
Tiebreaker 2: How many made FGs will there be in the Sunday games? (So PHI/TB, SF/DAL, PIT/KC)
Tiebreaker 3: How many passing yards will there be in ARZ/LAR?

I still remember some of the tiebreakers I came up with for the playoffs back when higher seeds got to make them.

The best include, "Rushing yards by home team running backs in the second quarter" and "Combined yardage of made field goals (excluding extra points)".

Great stuff.

I remember Blade once had a tiebreaker of "Number of passing yards by players who aren't quarterbacks"

And then I put 0 and a fake punt happened and we actually got some!

I was last on that tiebreaker, good thing it was TB #4!

I remember trying to make asinine tiebreakers but can't recall any of them specifically.

Was hiding the Bucs really necessary? It's not like anyone in the universe is picking the Eagles or Steelers~

Starting off with the Bengals. I believe everyone will wonder if anyone took Vegas 'cause we probably all thought about it.

I suspect that answer will be no. This will be a clean 9-0 sweep that will mistakenly make people sweat if the Raiders win.

I actually do think the Eagles can win that game... the pieces are there for the players to put it together at least. Slay cancels out Evans, D Line is proud enough to maybe get to Brady, and weather might favor the Eagles run...?

I'm a bit sad about this because I had Bengals with zero hesitation here and thought it'd be great to see half the people here try to take the upset

Bills for tonight.

I wanted to take the Raiders the first 3 days of the week but common sense got the better of me. There's just a notable gap between the Raiders and Bengals.

And like clockwork, my TB1 is so bad that anything short of going 6-0 likely eliminates me because one team randomly decided to have a historically bad no-show.

That's my projection. 5-0 entering the last game won't be safe for anyone who doesn't have TB1 dead on.

For whatever reason, I'm not feeling the '9ers today. It would be hilarious if Jimmy G ends Dallas' hopes this early, but I would be kind of surprised if he can avoid turning the ball over, and even more surprised if Dallas wins the TO battle and still loses.

The sudden hype on the 49ers all week has been scaring me. Dallas is a home favorite and is being totally overlooked, which makes the letdown less likely.

And with that I'm 5-0. I actually sort of started typing a change to Dallas, but I thought it wasn't for the right reasons and deleted it.

...And I'm all too familiar with being perfect until the last game and getting knocked out by it on tiebreakers.

The reason I've been driving myself kinda nuts on the TBs is I reduced mine from 5 to 4 and I've been super paranoid that that tiny little change is going to murder me into yet another soul crushing round 1 exit.

TB1 - 4 (off by 3)
TB2 - 11 (off by 6)

Didn't exactly do a great job on either of those!

So I'm definitely eliminated. I would pick the Rams over any team besides the Bills and I'd pick any playoff team plus several others over the 49ers. Which left the Raiders as my only upset choice from the outset. I didn't want to pick all favorites so I picked them. Then I missed on the Cowboys, and my TB1 is 3, so I switched to the Steelers as a desperation pick.

I actually picked all favorites and my TB1 is two (2) because I made my picks relatively early, heard a lot of hype about shit weather for the game leading me to think a low scoring game might be in my favor and never actually went back to check on things later LOL

Even if the Rams win here and most of you are on the Cardinals I am also definitely eliminated

But I pick the Cowboys in that situation 110 times out of 100 regardless so whatever

Emerald, is there any way you can check if I've ever actually gotten the last playoff game of a week right?

Because I'm genuinely wondering if I ever have.

My tiebreaker was a disaster and still ended up being the best tiebreaker though.

Everybody believed in the myth of the low scoring cold weather game

I lowered mine to 4 mostly because these two teams are super balanced on how they score TDs between passing and rushing. I expected there to be a fair amount of scoring.

Not like, the massacre it was but still.

I'm actually really surprised that I'm the only one at 4.

If the pats showed up, it was going to be their secondary, so it made more sense to guess on the lower side to me, because pats win was probably low passing tds and many versions of buffalo win were also low pass td

Emerald also didn't say what Bartz, foxhead or Suprak's tiebreakers were. Some of them could have had 4 or more.

But yeah I picked 3 because I expected a couple rushing TDs from the Bills and one from the Pats. Was thinking 3-0 or 2-1 on passing TDs both sounded plausible. So something like 35-7 or 28-14 final score plus 1-3 field goals.

Kinda funny that I may have made it if I had went straight chalk even with that TB. My TB2 wasn't great but wasn't terrible at 8.

My TB was 3, but I would have advanced on TB2 due to Dubs.

yeah I just misread TB2, I've been sick and loopy all week so I wasn't really thinking hard. Oh well, better luck next year
