I am flirting with the idea of kicking up my stream a bit. I am aware that I do not have a camera yet, I have plans to change that. That is item number one.

Are there any other fellow streamers here? I started out earlier in the fall, got bored for a little while, and am starting back up again. I have close to a hundred followers, but that is a meaningless statistic. Subscriber is the big one, of which I have zero. I'll range anywhere from 0-5 viewers throughout a given stream, which is higher than I anticipated in full transparency. All in all, it started as a weirdly therapeutic way to pass the time, to incorporate talking to essentially myself while I game instead of just gaming in silence.

Lastly, is it against the rules to post a link to the stream when it is going live?

I occassionally stream.

Mostly just for myself as Imma be playing those games anyways and if anyone stops by and chats that's cool too.

I'm jumping live in a sec but the FFXIV queue is at 745 and I would hate to stream a blank screen for the first half hour. Great content for sure.

Did you end up streaming? I followed you the other day I think (Kurono_alt) but ive been at work literally all day.

I did, just got off about half an hour ago. I did see that name, appreciate the heads up! I'll follow you back and check your stuff out when I get back onto my other computer tomorrow. Good luck!

I used to stream... (and due to laziness my streaming kit is still set up and covered in dust), no one watched so I stopped.

So I basically stuck to youtube.

Havebeen considering vtubing since I like the tech

yes. it's considered advertising.

It's something I think I'd enjoy doing, but I wouldn't want to worry about having to build an audience. If I was I already famous for some reason I think I'd invest more time and money into it but otherwise I think I would burn out as most people do.

I think you're more likely to have success with it if what you do in your streams are things you'd be doing anyway. And don't worry too much about equipment initially. My favorite streamer averages 4000 viewers and uses a 20 year old 720p webcam. It's useful to know how to balance your stream's audio levels though. Nothing worse than a mic with too much gain, or a game completely overpowering a player's commentary

I steam sometimes. And usually post when I do. It's fun sometimes. And I've talked to people and stuff... And even got some help a couple times...Once, I had a bunch of people watching. It was around the end of a Spider-man stream. I was actually getting tired. I was streaming for like 8 hours... But it was fun. I stopped when I finally had zero viewers for a short time...

Which sucks. I did it multiple times before and it was fine (I'm guessing since no one reported it). But then I got in trouble after that...

This is my thinking as well. I don't actually watch streamers very often, but when I do, it seems like the audience just feeds you talking points and conversation banter, rather than you having to fill dead air by yourself when nobody is chatting. You could just game like you normally do, but just converse with people in the chat and let the time pass naturally without having to feel like you're "working" at creating content.
