Don't say I didn't warn you, Lok.

This will pull at your soul and make you feel something is wrong. I wish you luck in finding your way back there. My advice is, when you find the door. Don't look back. Just go through it. No one has ever wanted to come back.

Ok... here it is... close your eyes, lay down and listen.

No, you know what? You asked for it. So take it. Take it all.

umm, I more meant I kinda wanna buy a new piano but usually buying a piano online is a crapshoot so I thought maybe a synth might work out

My bf is good at piano. I can play piano by sound. But I don't know how to read sheet music for it. I played flute and use to be able to read sheet music for it, though... Anyway, I was thinking of seeing it he could teach me a little... I like how the piano sounds...

Please understand, that Piano and Synthesizers (and MIDI) are 2/3 completely separate things...just because they have 'Keyboard' aesthetic/layout many think they are the same

A piano or Organ actually plays 'Notes' in a physical matter by hammers striking stuff and pipes, while a synthesizer plays emulated 'Computer' sounds

ya, I'd like to find a non-midi keyboard... cuz, like, I know midi is a standard but they all sound terrible. I've had toy pianos that sound better.

I've been trying to learn from YouTube lessons for about a year now.

My keyboard is a 15 year-old 61-key Yamaha.

I want one like this
https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-88-Key-Weighted-Digital-P45B/dp/B00UJ9LNDK
With the weighted, pressure sensitive keys but still having options for other voices and such

Back in the 90's I lucked out with a high end Casio that was on sale for a couple of hundred (thank you Radio Shack outlet store) showed it to a buddy of mine who did rigging and backstage stuff for the Stones (whenever they were in Toronto) he was sceptical at first but was really impressed with it once he started playing around with it.

As long as you don't go for a really cheap model, most modern electric pianos are fantastic. If you can try before you buy, you'll get a better feel for how it will sound.

iirc you're in Alberta; Long and McQuade in Calgary or Edmonton will let you try out what they have in stock, they're (usually) overpriced but it will give you a feel for how they sound.

If you are looking for a keyboard, you probably want something like a Yamaha YDP144 with weighted keys.

Personally, I would go with something like the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol - but in order to make it 'sound good', it needs to have a PC with Kontakt. There are some amazing libraries available - especially piano ones. More expensive, but in the end more portable and flexible.

It really depends on the Programs/Soundbanks you're using...you have MIDI files that sound better than the real thing out there
