With SSBU and SMWii wrapping up, we have a sad shortage of things to save. So we're going to save one of my favorite things (that I don't think we've saved before) and have a Save My Favorite MCU Character contest.

This will either be 50, 75, or 100 characters depending on number of noms. You can nominate ten characters, two of which may be a double nomination, and one of which may be a triple nomination.

Characters have to be from the MCU. Full list can be found here:

Only rules are that character must be a named character with at least one line of dialogue. Variants are allowed if there is a substantial difference in the character (so for example I'd allow Old Man Loki from Loki or evil Doctor Strange from What If...? but not Wong from What If...? or final scene Mobius who doesn't know who Loki is from Loki because they didn't really do anything different to differentiate them from the standard character. I'm not going to police this too much because I don't really care, but just try to keep that in mind while nominating.

I mean I get your point, but I feel like if people made a list of their 50 favorite characters from the MCU, a lot of them would be missing at least one or two of the 6 from Avengers. I know mine would. I don't think they should get an auto-in, and if people really want them in they could just nominate them.

So I basically don't want there to be a situation where I'm deciding which characters are important enough to get auto-ins and which characters aren't important enough and don't get to be included. So yeah Captain America is obvious (to me), but then so are characters like Spider-Man and Thanos and Black Panther and etc etc etc. And I could just make a list of the 50 or 100 most important characters and we save from that but that isn't as much fun imo.

I mean you get to situations where it would be like "well why did TI from Ant Man get in but not Nick Fury" or whoever. There's a whole ton of "important" characters here and I feel like no matter what there's going to be someone pretty big that gets left out and someone minor that gets in over them. Like, depending on how many people are participating you're really only going to be focusing on a handful of people to save anyway and everyone else is just extra. I think ten noms is a good number so you can nominate your favorite core characters and then also some fun random ones as well. I dunno. I think the final list will be better if you guys all make it and whoever you guys nominate, you nominate.

That being said I'm up to doing whatever you guys think will make things better. If you want me to put together a core list of characters that I feel like need to be included, that's totally fine. Whatever makes this more FUN for everyone.

Oh and just because I didn't make this clear in the intro post:

You may change your nominations at any time, as many times as you want (within reason - if you're doing it every hour to mess with me then you're a jerk face and I'll stop paying attention to your noms). Just please make clear who you are swapping for who.

you could probably safely auto-include the original Avengers cast (six avengers, fury, Loki, Thanos) as a sort of noble nine, but its probably not a big deal either way

Id say for the purposes of this contest well count them as one character.

These nominations already scare me a bit. Everyone triple and double nomming their favorite obscure character. Oh well.

Is there going to be an updated list of nominations at some point, because I'd like to nominate some people but would rather wait until closer to the cut off so I'm not wasting nominations on people that have been solidified.

I can understand leaving out Actor Loki. He was technically uncredited. But he did have spoken lines, and was Matt Damon, so it's a serious actor, even if not in a serious role. By the limitations you put, he is more viable for the contest than Alligator Loki is.
