If everything had been exactly the same, but Dexter and Harrison had run away in that last sequence, the internet would be raving about how it was the best ending ever.

Dexter fans are notoriously bad at accepting endings that aren't happy.

I just felt like it was poorly handled.

• the one cop conveniently slips up so that Dexter can grab him, and he accidently kills himself due to the bullet ricocheting
• Dexter, after Harrison finds out that the cop died because of him, does nothing to explain the situation; he just says he got in the way
• the only solution that Harrison can come up with to deal with his dad is to kill him, and the only solution that Dexter can come up with is to be killed
• Harrison, having killed a notorious serial killer (Dexter's MO), is allowed to escape

even though the ending sucked, IMO, I feel it would have at least carried some weight had Harrison been arrested for killing Dexter. especially with the episode being titled, "Sins of the Father"

I didnt hate it, but it was definitely rushed.

Meh. It's a big budget fanfic sequel 10 years after the fact. Be happy to get anything, or ignore it completely. No reason to gaf about it being bad.

The only complaint that I kinda agree with that I've seen is that the writers mixed up animal tranquilizers, M99 and ketamine.

But like, if that's the biggest issue, things went pretty well.

When I said it in another topic, I was being purposely hyperbolic as people were acting like it came and shat in their rooms, when they'd forgotten how poor the original one was.

I've not actually watched it yet, but when the rest of the show has generally been very well received I am doubtful the ending is as bad as claimed.

I really loved that confrontation between Batista and Dexter after all these years.

Its not great. Im not going to give a shit about it being questionable though. Just give up on Dexter.

I enjoyed this finale way more than the original (and this season was pretty good overall) but the last episode just ended in a disappointing fashion. Not even because Dexter died, just the way some things in this season happened. Like...

• What was the point of the rich oil guy? Just to detract suspicion from Kurt? His storyline went nowhere, even after his weird confrontation with Audrey on the road.
• Why did they kill Molly off screen? Her death could have had a lot more impact if they had shown it on screen.
• Why was Lundy shown in the flashback, even though Dexter had nothing to do with his death?
• How is Angela able to piece together so much with Google that Miami Metro over 8 seasons couldn't? While we're on that tangent, he used M99 in the originals and Ketamine now. Big oversight by the show writers IMO.
• Harrison killing Dexter felt super forced. Of course it's just my opinion, but it would have made much more sense for Angela to kill/arrest him or for him to get away or for Dexter to have some sort of confrontation with Angel.
• Angela revealing to Dexter that Angel was on his way and then nothing else happening with that was extremely disappointing. She could have just bluffed that he was coming to Dexter and it would have had the same effect and not led to people having higher expectations.
• Why is Angela covering for Harrison? Seems to go against all her morals and everything she was about the entire season. Complete 180 of her character.

I also didn't understand why everyone was shitting on Dexter for killing Logan. He frequently went against the code when it was convenient or necessary. As the viewers, we know that he more than likely could have beaten the charges against him, but I can at least chalk it up to him panicking.

I think if the last episode were drawn out a little more and we got to see a bit more of the aftermath, it would have been A+.

Something that didn't sit well with me either, Dexter never wanted that for Harrison, his whole point was to get away and protect him by not being in his life. Then he shows him how to kill and get away with it, and then puts him in a position where he gets a taste for killing another human. It was all kind of backwards at the end.
