Lysithea has some really fun meme builds.

Like stacking all sources of magic range increases on her so she's got 1-6/7 range on her default spells so she's basically a walking (or flying lmao) siege weapon.

Getting her to Pegasus isn't actually hard at all because of her ability.

Just get her to E+ in lances. (Two instruction sessions set to half lance will do this)and adjutant her as a soldier for a paralogue battle or two and she'll make D+ for pegasus. I ended up doing this just because I totally ran out of classes for her to master and probably will get her darting blow, which will significantly increase her ability to double and orko.

Lysithea post level 20 is pretty good. She's just bad before it.

She gets 1-3 stats on almost every level though. Usually 2. Desperately needs those promotion bonuses.

Fun tip I learned on accident though:
If you equip the Aegis Shield on a unit without a Crest, they take 10 damage after doing any combat action. It's essentially free healing exp for your casters

Playing through these new chapters.

Killed Ignatz. Recruited Lysithea. Killed Hilda. Spared Claude. Dumb Hilda never letting me give her gifts, she deserved it.

Hilda can't be recruited on the Crimson Flower route anyway. She can be recruited on Azure Moon but the other two lords have characters that are exclusive to their routes. It's pretty obvious who they are but spoilers just in case

Hubert is only available in Crimson Flower and Dedue is only available in Azure Moon as they are the retainers foe Edelgard and Dimitri respectively and won't abandon them.

Yeah, I figured that much out. Was just a little remorseful lol

Yeah my first playthrough of Azure Moon I didn't recruit anyone (except Lysithea and Lorenz for reasons) and killed everyone else...it was definitely rather gut-wrenching.

I did the same~

Having to train Brawl and HA up for Caspar and Ferdinand because they could never get B Support before timeskip sucked though.

HA is garbage and Brawl is useless to anything but a male Byleth with DLC.

Getting up bow, lance, and flying, was just a matter of course, which made those people way simpler to recruit.

Like, all Ingrid needs is a D flying at B support and all Ashe needs is a D lance at B support. That's not even enough to make it to pegasus!

Then again I guess Ashe sucks for Male Byleth because he has no need for lances until Wyvern Lord unless he's going WM in which case he never needs them at all!

..Flying is still a matter of course though.

Didn't recruit everyone for the Blue Lions run but did for Golden Deer

Training Heavy Armor sucks, especially since Alois and Gilbert both disappear during Chapter 10 and they're the only ones who teach it in part 1.

Regardless of context, when it comes to gameplay "I guess Ashe sucks" is always going to be a safe bet

I refuse to do a playthrough without recruiting literally everyone possible because I love all the characters and don't want any of them to die :(

It's actually kind of the reason I don't like 3 Houses as much as some, honestly. Still the best FE we've gotten since Gamecube at least, and hopefully the next one will be just as good if not better.

This far in the game, I would say the best thing it does it definitely its soundtrack. Some really good themes in this one.

I don't remember, but given how Dimitri is post timeskip, I doubt he can live

The only thing that docks Crimson Flower for me a couple of points is its brevity. I'm one of those weirdos who really enjoy the longer Fire Emblem campaigns. I won't say how long the other routes are here in Three Houses, just in case you'd rather not know, but Edelgard's path is the shortest.

If I play the game again, I'm going easy mode and skipping all monastery stuff.

Yeah the monastery stuff is very very weak on replays, and tbh it's not particularly strong on a first playthrough either.

Unfortunately it's also the main way to engage with customizing your units, which is one of 3H's big draws. Kind of a damned if you, damned if you don't situation.

Oh, word. I hadn't read most of the posts, haha.

And I understand. The deluge of side stuff is to the game's detriment in replays. I blitzed through three routes (!) but I had to wait like half a year to do the fourth. Because I'm the same way; I can't not do the stuff. And I couldn't even bring myself to skip it on replays. <_<

While you can't save Dimitri, how exactly he goes out changes a fair bit depending on when you defeat Dedue.

I let Dedue get big.

I went back in time to attack him before he got big, but I didn't kill him before.

I think Hubert has probably well-established himself as the best character. Feels like the best run of the "dark advisor" trope I've seen.

I don't know about the other paths, but I feel like this whole Crimson Flower story had all the potential in the world to be a really good story and it suffered from having to share a game with 3 other paths. I can only imagine, if they went deeper into the development of the characters from other paths and allowed more pungent emotional moments, then this could have been something special. Instead, I feel like I have to play other paths to get a full picture of things, but even still, it's going to be pictures that are conflicting.

What exactly does New Game Plus give me?

There was so much said appreciation that El had for Byleth, but no true development.

Can somebody give me a brief summary of what happens in the 4 other story paths (including DLC)? Not like, how it ends, but the base story.

The other routes are playing the war from the other side. So the battles are largely against the Adrestian Empire. You learn more about Nemesis and the 10 Elites, the Battle of Duscur and Those Who Slither in the Dark.

Can't decide if I want to try to blitz through another story or watch videos or just go play another game and forget about the rest of these paths.

I mean, I imagine I'll be equally unimpressed with them.

I'd say at least 1 more path is worth it... either one of the big houses.
Thats as much as I did for now anyway. And I was not unhappy. (I liked one more than CF and the other sounded better too)

Not sure if you have the DLC, but it does add stuff that makes a playthrough way faster
(Then there is a glitch that adds even more to that)

And honestly you dont have to recraft bonds with everyone again if you just wanna blitz
