My wife had Covid at the start of the month and now shes complaining of fever, crunchy chest, etc.

Could it be another variant?

She got "long covid"... which is why vaccination is important, as well as avoidance of new variants even if they appear mostly harmless

Probably the same virus just coming back for another lap. People say theyve felt after effects for months afterwards. But its also different for everyone. So who knows

Damn. I feel bad for her.

As for the virus staying in the body for months, I can see that. Its been like 2 weeks since I got over it and I feel as if my stamina isnt 100% yet. Like Im not able to do cardio like I would before. But I didnt think it was because I was still sick as I have no other symptoms. I just thought that it has a long recovery process. Like usually youll have a few days after getting over a cold where youre fine but not able to hit the gym like you normally do.

Two separate things.

Being affected in succession is possible, just unlikely.

The long lethargy is a side effect a small subset of people suffer from after overcoming the illness itself.
