Anyway! This is a wrestling sim thingy with some user input, some me input and a lot of dice rolling and card flipping and chart checking. It is now being run in TWO different games- PLAAY's Face to the Mat for PPV shows (and 99% of the project to date) and an unreleased (AFAIK) game called Total Control Wrestling for TV shows. This project has ground almost to a halt on multiple occasions- I finally got my mental health back on track but then I didn't have time to actually play.

You're welcome to sign up, although I might wait a bit to rotate you onto the roster. I take some input and welcome promos, but like 80% of the creative direction comes from the game systems. You're also welcome to give me two celebrities to add to the pool for potential future cameos!

SUMMER SPECTACULAR

-Mario and Cueto chat in the ring to build the show. As part of his efforts to make B8WL a multimedia empire, he has reached out to Mori Calliope for a track, and it will debut right now! Calli pops up on the tron, and raps.....about how much Cueto sucks and even the Miz is better.

(Reminder: R-Truth and @Eddv came to blows, resulting in the latter being kicked out of the Men of Low Moral Fiber last PPV)

-Eddv comes out before his match to claim responsibility for the mystery attack on Legolas! He might have lost MLMF, but he hasn't lost his drive! Truth and pals are watching backstage- he wants Bowser and Ludwig to keep an eye on the match tonight so nothing else sketchy happens!

-GRUDGE MATCH: Eddv w/Caelus v. R-Truth w/MLMF
This was never a match, just a straight up brawl. Caelus gets into it with Bowser and Ludwig on the outside, and Eddv and Truth trade hands all the way to the back! There was an opening bell at some point, but nothing is under control until they are hosed down by a visiting Greninja backstage.

@Maniac64 is accompanied to the ring by a large golem (Grear from Near and Far, on the remote chance anybody has played that one) that doesn't say much but makes fun of Maniac's mannerisms when his back is turned.

-MASTERY OF TAYBLES: Champion King Maniac64 v. @Strife2
Maniac tries to open up scientifically, but Strife just powers through his holds. A quick eye poke allows Maniac to escape to the outside, where he sets up a tayble.....but Strife follows him out and hits a bulldog from behind for the quick win!

-Strife parties all the way to the back, where he bumps into Kora. Kora informs Strife he's lucky he has bigger fish to fry tonight, or he wouldn't have let Strife beat Maniac! Strife will get his eventually....and he seems to be looking forward to it.

(Reminder: @Panthera cycled through several gimmicks before falling in with the Persona 5 crew. He led a crusade against every heel stable at once, but his group lost at Torneo Cibernetico. He'd like to at least take @XIII_rocks and YMD down a peg.)

-XIII is trying to cut a promo....but the Phantom Thieves have cut the mic! He never saw it comin'!

-GRUDGE MATCH: Panthera w/Morgana v. XIII w/YMD
Panth tries to jump XIII in the confusion, but is slowed down by Goldberg and Iskandar on the outside. XIII follows up with a choke while the ref is distracted. Panth recovers a bit and takes him down, but XIII winds up on top with a hair pull. Panth scrabbles for the ropes, but XIII gets him in a painful looking Surfboard. XIII probably has a submission, but he drops the hold in order to put himself over to the camera! Morgana gets to arguing with XIII, keeping up the distraction, and Panth hits a nice suplex. 450 splash from Panth, but XIII escapes to the ropes before a cover can be made. Both men up, and XIII hits a standing dropkick. 1....2....3!
WINNER: XIII

-XIII has won easily, like always! It's almost TOO easy to run this place, so for an added challenge, he's going to leave Bang in charge of YMD and become his own man!

(Reminder: Liv Morgan has joined up with the Knights Radiant, but also has her own crew of DJ REVERB and some other oddball types. She's PROBABLY not undermining the Knights from the inside, she just has a few things to work out with Zangief in the ring. Right?)

-Zangief and Maniac try to talk Liv out of going through with this match....she doesn't wanna.

-GRUDGE MATCH: Liv Morgan w/DJ REVERB v. Zangief
Liv opens with a nice dropkick, to accolades from DJ REVERB. Zangief gets mad, but not too mad to sidestep a superman punch and let Liv hit the turnbuckle. Nice little spinning toe hold from Gief. Zangief goes for a piledriver, but it's reversed into a rana! Liv tries a Boston Crab, but gets launched by Zangief's mighty legs. She bounces off the ropes into a huge powerslam! Zangief powers her into the corner, then flapjacks her out of it. Gutbuster! 1.....2.....3!

-Ken Shamrock is backstage! He says Boko is an embarrassment to the industry and even the Dwarf will beat him!

-CAGE MATCH: Gimli v. MajinZidane
Boko immediately slaps Gimli into a lifting Full Nelson, but Gimli gets out with a hair pull, whipping Boko into the cage. Gimli with a crossbody into the cage as well! Cover, but his boot caught the ref, slowing the count down a bit. Boko blocks an axehandle smash, only to get launched into the cage wall again. Legolas pokes Boko in the throat through the gap. Big Spinebuster from Gimli! He starts climbing, but Boko catches him with a Boko-To-Back Suplex! Boko is the first up, and tries to climb as well...but Gimli scrambles up and bonks his head. Both drop back to the ring. Boko covers for 1, then grinds Gimli's face into the wiring. Gimli hits him with the uno reverse card and does the same. Gimli climbs partway up, but Boko is already recovering, so Gimli dives onto him instead! Both down....Gimli up first....Axe Bomber! 1.....2.....3!

-Boko is starting to get visibly upset with his losses, especially after finally starting to build some momentum.

-Panth is unhappy as well.

(Reminder: "Bangy Two Belts" has been on an absolute tear, defending both the UCA and HC Titles against all comers, winning a title shot in the Pyramid War, dumping her friend(?) M. Bison, and now inheriting YMD. Also at Pyramid War, Kora got himself DQ'd in his title match, injuring the champion Steve Austin at a later date. David hasn't seen tons of success in B8WL, but has repeatedly inserted himself into both of their business. Admiring his scrappiness [or maybe just wanting a face to potentially eat the pin], Cueto added him to the match for the vacant B8WL Title. Bang's midcard titles aren't on the line, but they are on poles at opposite corners for use as weapons. Russo smiles upon us.)

-B8WL CHAMPIONSHIP OTHER BELTS ON POLES: UCA and HC Champ Bangladesh DuPree v. davidponte v. Korayashi
The heels team up and chuck david out of the ring, but Kora clotheslines Bang over the top to join him. Kora tries to follow, but david catches him with a backbreaker....and Bang grabs the HC title while they're busy! David chops her and she drops it....and Kora pulls a similar tactic to grab the UCA belt! However, this time david is ready, and he intercepts Kora on the way down, suplexing him into the ring. Bang climbs into the ring as well, but david hits her with a flurry of blows. Bang responds by finally getting a good shot in with the belt, applying it directly to david's forehead. Doubleteam bulldog on Kora, who rolls outside and gets the UCA title again. He whacks Bang with it, but whiffs at david...hitting Bang again. David hits their heads together.....and Kora oversells it! Maniac comes running out to check on him as the match is stopped...and the ref lets him replace his buddy! Kora immediately pops up, so it looks like this was a ruse to get a relatively fresh Knight in the match! Only in B8WL, man.

Maniac goes after Bang, but david catches him from behind. David whips Maniac into Bang into the corner, after which she sweeps Maniac's leg. Maniac returns the favor with a trip, and David kicks her in the head. David and Maniac lock up, and Bang gets them both with eye pokes. Low blow to both! Bang rolls up David! 1.....2....3!

Next PPV is NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS! Time for user input, and hopefully I can get some momentum going:

-Should Bang be made to vacate the Hardcore and UCA titles upon winning the B8WL title?
-Should the Hardcore and UCA titles be unified? Bang's held both for a while, and if we do the NoC gimmick and there aren't any TV title changes, it's looking like they might wind up in a double title match anyway.
-Pick the wrestler you most want to see pushed! The winner will receive 10 Grudge, and I'll break ties.
(In the future I intend to do multiple smaller prizes every PPV instead of one bigger one, but it's hard when it's been so long and there are no archives to review. Or I might ditch the concept altogether if nobody votes.)
-You may add two celebrities to the pool!

@Eddv is backstage trying to get some reps in....but can't find his personal barbells! He can't get the right workout vibe without them, no matter how many squats he does! The camera pans out of the room, showing that rapscallion R-Truth absconding with the goods!

Match: MoT @Strife2 and Konnan v. Beatrice and Bison w/Ronove
Strife is coming off a big win, and has found a fellow brawling enthusiast in Konnan. Beatrice and Bison don't gel quite as well, with Beato letting Bison do most of the heavy lifting and Bison....unable to do that. Fairly easy win for the smashmouth types.

Bangy THREE Belts is backstage putting herself over on the mic. Bison slumps into the shot and tells her to go kick rocks. She mocks him as a loser, and he reminds her that he is one of the few people with the ability to challenge her for the UCA AND Hardcore titles!

Match: @davidponte v. @XIII_rocks
David's not letting his loss dampen his spirits, but XIII is riding high. Both men have something to prove tonight, and neither gives an inch as they battle back and forth. XIII gets increasingly frustrated with david's refusal to stay down for long....and eventually hits him with 13 rocks! That's a DQ, but XIII hits him a few more times, presumably finding the activity cathartic.

Gimli and Legolas are in the ring to talk about YMD. They don't care who's in charge, they don't care how many belts the pirate woman has, they just want a piece of their heavies, Goldberg and Iskandar! ....And they get it, as the enforcers charge down to ringside! The Fellowship meet them on the ramp, and they brawl almost to the back before security manages to separate them.

Match: @Panthera w/Morgana v. King @Maniac64
Panth doesn't even make it in the ring before Maniac jumps him from behind! Morgana tries to run interference, but just gets kicked in the head. That does give Panth a few seconds to recover before the bell, at least. Panth bounces back and has a competitive match, with his manager sprawled at ringside for the first couple minutes. Maniac taunts Morgana every time he has a spare moment....and eventually Morgana has enough and hits him with a Garudyne! .....Unfortunately he's a bit rusty on being sneaky, and the ref catches him for a DQ. That was probably Maniac's plan all along! Panth's rough patch continues.

Panth and Morgana vow vengeance!

Match: Fellowship (Legolas and Gimli) v. @Eddv and @TheSultanOfSlam w/Caelus
Huh, those two heels seem to get along for some reason. Sultan tries for a ramp ambush, but Eddv is still distraught about his weights, and isn't much help. Caelus is, though, as his alcohol could be the next thing stolen, and he ain't havin' it. That winds up being the difference maker, as the Eds wind up able to overcome the superior teamwork of the Fellowship.

-Truth is out there on commentary for the next match! There's a UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY per Dario Cueto, but he keeps getting it wrong, so the announcers fill us in: it'll be six men (some of whom already wrestled, oh well) and the winner gets a title shot at Bang! Per the Night of Champions stipulation, only previous champions may challenge for each belt, so the shot granted depends on the winner!

-UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY BATTLE ROYALE: Mario (World), Cena (World), Bison (UCA), David (UCA), Sultan (Hardcore), and Maniac (Hardcore)
Hey, Mario is back from injury, neat! He actually seems to be the favorite, as Cena is distracted by Truth's presence and the other four lads have already wrestled tonight. Maniac and Bison recognize this and team up on him! Mario gets doubleteamed, but not eliminated....and he fights back and actually winds up tossing Bison! David and Sultan brawl back and forth for a while....until the rest of the field jumps in and helps eject Sultan! Having led the reinforcements, Cena turns on david, tossing him. Maniac goes after Mario again, but Mario just leverages him over the top. It's down to Cena v. Mario for a world title shot! They brawl back and forth....Cena gets the upper hand and gets Mario up for the AA over the top! Truth hops up and starts jaw-jacking with Cena.....and Mario slips out the back, dropkicking the distracted Cena over the top! Mario is going to Night of Champions! That probably should've been our main event!

Match: @eaedwards6400 w/Time Cops v. Zangief
Eaed is fired up after being snubbed for the Unique Opportunity, and Zangief is on a roll after hellmurdering Liv. Zangief gets a bit ambitious, wasting time picking a fight with the Time Cops on the outside when he should be going for the pin! Eaed takes him out with a dive! Few more moves on the outside, then Eaed rolls Zangief into the ring for a Future Shock and a win.

Ludwig invites Strife out to the ring for an interview. Strife is excited to have finally won a big match, and he ain't ever letting the MoT go. Kora shows up and tells Strife to back that up in the ring, because he wants that title back! A staredown turns into a shoving match, turns into a fight. The relatively fresh Kora gets the better of it, and Strife is knocked out of the ring to Ludwig's entertainment.

John Carmack is here! If there's anything he appreciates, it's a good classic, and Rocky Balboa has been criminally underused in B8WL! He has spearheaded a virtual campaign to make this title shot....reality!

UCA Title: Bang (c) v. Rocky
Slobberknocker. Bang doesn't show much in the way of fatigue from her recent belt-juggling schedule, and Rocky is hungry to seize his chance! The fight spills out to the outside....and both are having too much fun to get back in for the count! It's a double countout! No joy for Rocky, but at least he held his own!

Maniac is visiting Liv in the hospital. She's gonna be out for a little bit, but she'll get there. Maniac seems generally concerned for his stablemate....now's our chance for an all out attack! Panth and the Phantom Thieves have stalked Maniac to the hospital, jumping him when his guard is down! Liv tries to help, but just gets slapped down as Panth and his pals mob the King! It looks like Maniac has chosen his side in the Knights schism, and it looks like Panth has chosen to be a spiteful coward!

-Match: @ScareChan and @MajinZidane v. YMD (Goldberg and Iskandar) w/Waver
The Fellowship had to face a random pairing of heels, so it's only fair that Goldberg and Iskandar have to face the sidekick alliance here. Scare and Boko do just fine for themselves against the monster heels, actually. But Waver gets involved, there's a ref bump, and shenanigans are afoot. Mario runs in to even the numbers for Boko, but Bang runs down and rouses the ref....who disqualifies Scare and Boko! That could've been a big win for them, but the heels take it by DQ this time.

somebody posted a pretty cool collection of PLAAY homebrews, which includes FttM

.....between the integration of TCW and having a set PPV schedule, I can't really USE any of it currently tho :\

I decided to use the booking part of the homebrew to see what it would come up with for B8WL. This is just non-canon dice rolling for funsies, and I'll add the caveats that A) I forgot Strife won the MoT and B) Actually playing the shows out probably would've given us a few plot twists and C) it's using current feuds, some of which were based on Night of Champions being the next PPV. I think if I was actually going to use this system for this or another project (which I might at some point?), I'd tweak it to do slightly longer shows, and maybe adjust or not do the "squash" matches. It was easier than I expected to book as many people as possible, but you'd still only see people like twice a month.

tl;dr: in an alternate universe where I use this set of FttM modifications, we're building up to TLC apparently! I just like seeing what automated bookers do, really.

SHOW 2-22

@ScareChan is backstage, putting himself over for winning the B8 Rumble! He talks about what a great opportunity and hard fought win it was, but before he can get to the part where the whole dang rumble was in the ring at once, Ludwig jumps him from behind! He indicates that he and the rest of the MLMF are gonna make sure Cena is next!

-Match: Scare v. Bowser
Things go from bad to worse for B8WL's favorite Netflix junkie, as he's scheduled to face Bowser next! He makes a valiant attempt to shake it off after being shoved down the ramp, but Bowser's a tall order even when you're fresh, and he's able to pick the bones easily.

-Zangief is out for revenge after @eaedwards6400 dulled his momentum last week. We see him sneaking (well, trying to sneak) around backstage....and he finds eaed's locker room! Eaed's not there, but the Time Cops are....and a fight breaks out! Zangief chucks Time Cop 1 into the wall...and grabs Time Cop 2 and takes him away! They're not very good time cops, is the thing.

-Match: MoT Strife v. Bison
Wild brawl! Strife has the upper hand for most of it, but when a chair gets involved after a ref bump, Strife is the one caught using it. Bison with a big DQ win, even if it is only a technicality, but the rules won't help Kora in a Taybles match!

-Bison sticks around to get on the mic. He calls out Bang, who shows up obligingly. They call each other a variety of rather personal insults, but at the end of the day Bang has three titles and a generally more impressive track record to fall back on.

-Match: Eaed & Konnan w/ Time Cop 1 v. MLMF (Truth and Ludwig)
Eaed comes out first, a bit frazzled by, y'know, his bodyguard getting kidnapped. Truth and Ludwig jump him on the ramp! They get the upper hand for a sec, until Konnan makes the save. The faces rally nicely, and end MLMF's hot streak in decisive fashion.

-Mario is coming down for an interview....when he gets jumped by Bang and YMD! It looks bad for the #1 Contender....but here comes @MajinZidane and the Fellowship to make the save! We're teetering on the edge of getting the whole locker room involved, but officials manage to pull them apart eventually.

-Match: Rocky and King Maniac v. @Eddv and @Panthera w/Caelus and Morgana
Two recent turns collide as Maniac seeks to avenge Liv! Maniac is on a roll as ever, and Rocky holds his end up as well. Unfortunately, they've got TWO managers to contend with. Caelus distracts the ref, and Morgana pulls the old fake chairshot trick to get Rocky DQ'd!

-Vampiro and Stryker hype whatever is scheduled for the rest of the card.

-Match: Legolas v. Beatrice w/Ronove
As Beatrice makes her entrance, a fan hops the guardrail and attacks her! He gets a couple clumsy chair shots in before Ronove and security pull him off. Beato isn't seriously hurt, but she is off her game for the ensuing match, and Legolas is able to pick up the win despite Ronove's best efforts.

-The injured Daniel Bryan taunts Beatrice live via satellite over the tron. Kinda sucks to get randomly blindsided, doesn't it?

@ScareChan is backstage licking his wounds, when he is approached by @davidponte . David has been impressed by Scare and Cena lately, but UCA vets gotta stick together, y'know? David wants to join the CeNation with Scare as a tag partner....and Scare accepts, attempting to turn the group into a Full House of talent!

-Non-title: Mario v. B8WL, UCA, and HC Champ Bang
Man, just giving the PPV ME away in the midcard I guess. A wild brawl from the opening bell, with the ref losing control quickly, and then bumping. Ref bump means escalation time, and neither disappoints. Mario grabs a Fire Flower, but Bang is able to block his shots with a chair! Bang counters with...a freakin' grenade! Mario is able to leap away from a direct hit, but it still blows a hole in the ring itself. The ref has the good sense to stop the match there, but it'll be HARDCORE at the PPV baybeee!

-It's, uh, gonna take some time to fix the ring, so we've had to cut a few matches from the show tonight, but there's still plenty going on backstage! Probably!

-The announcers stall by talking about Legolas and @Eddv , of all the possible feuds. Eddv's kinda busy with Truth, and Legolas is kinda busy with YMD, but there's clearly some bad blood here, too!

-Match: @MajinZidane v. Kora
Guest commentary: @Maniac64
Maniac might have turned face, but he's still a little cranky with Boko. (and Striker) Boko and Kora are going fairly even in the ring, but Boko eventually notices the tension between Maniac and Striker, and goes over to the announce table to break it up! Words escalate to shoves, shoves escalate to blows, and blows escalate to a brawl to the back! Match is thrown out.

-Cena and @TheSultanOfSlam are in catering, and a debate over who's stronger gets a little out of hand! Both have a chip on their shoulder currently, with Sultan losing MoT and Cena just missing out on a title shot, so not only do they agree to settle it in the ring....the loser must kiss the winner's feet!

-Kiss My Foot: Cena v. Sultan
As Cena makes his way down, he's jumped by the MLMF! Scare and David make the save, but not before Cena takes some licks. The CeNation and the MLMF brawl on the outside, and Cena and Sultan brawl on the inside. Cena gets the upper hand in the actual match, but the MLMF outnumber his buddies 3 to 2, and take them out. Sultan grabs Cena from behind, and Truth winds up a chair shot...but Cena ducks, and Sultan takes the hit! .....That's a DQ in favor of Sultan, though!

-MLMF rush Cena in the ring and put the boots to him. With nobody to save him (and the official result going against him anyway) Cena is forced face first into Sultan's feet! Sultan poses with the MLMF as we go off air.
