Who would win?

This one has a bunch of rules due to the sheer volume and variety of characters. There are only 10 poll slots and 11/14 are MMO's anyways meaning all we miss out on are Vaan, Lightning, and Noctis. I think we'll be fine. As always, assume the characters are at the apex of their power and have all weapons/armor/skills attributed to them. However, NO SUMMONING is allowed! The goal here is to measure each character, not the power of their allies (which the summons would count as). Individual rules below.

Warrior of Light: WoL can be any one of the six classes (Warrior, Thief, Monk, Black Mage, White Mage, Red Mage), but assume that they are locked into that class. So a Warrior WoL can't cast Flare.

Firion: You can assume he's maxed all stats.

Onion Kid: Nothing too special here, mainly due to lack of familiarity on my part. However, no summoning and he cannot break the game rules regarding classes (I don't know what those are though).

Cecil: Cecil is in his paladin form.

Bartz: You like big Bartz and you cannot lie. In all seriousness, pick whatever class you want for Bartz but he is not allowed to summon.

Terra: Terra is allowed to learn any skills from magicite and has access to her half-esphyr form, but she cannot summon them from the magicite.

Cloud: VII Cloud, not VIIR Cloud (though that shouldn't matter). As always, he cannot summon.

Squall: Is allowed to equip his guardian forces for junctioning but is not allowed to summon them. Can be safely assumed to have all magic available.

Zidane: Can know all skills he can learn; but otherwise... nothing special here beyond the 'no summoning' bit.

Tidus: Can be assumed to have completed the entire sphere grid and have full access to weapons/armor/overdrives. However he does not have access to Yuna's summoning (obviously).

Prior Results:

Luke vs. Harry: Luke by 70.21%.
Samus vs. Boba: Samus by 90.91%

Shouldn't Trance Zidane be able to beat everyone else on that list?

If you think Trance Zidane should than vote for him. My focus here was the protags of FF I-X, not if they'd be balanced of necessity.

dpends if you mean a statistical battle or a lore battle...

cuz statistically Terra should almost always win due to the absolutely TILTED power scale of FF6 in general - even your weakest party members can perform infinite-damage combos

Lore wise... I might have to give it to Zidane

I would lean towards lore since stats do not remain consistent in power across games.

I honestly think that would mean it is solely between Terra and Noctis.

Also, while no one in 12 would be a genuine candidate, including it would raise the age old question and the differences between main character, viewpoint character and protagonist. (6 also kinda does, but Terra is the obvious most powerful from those options)

While arguments can certainly be made that Ashe or possibly Balthier are the MC's of XII, Square acts as if Vaan is the MC and he is the first primary character that players will control. The same applies for Terra. I am aware she's optional for the second half of VI (though I would be extremely shocked if she didn't, canonically, rejoin) and both Locke and Celes have at least viable claims to be a MC; but Square treats Terra as the MC, she's the first main one you'll control for a prolonged period, and I'm really not looking to get into a debate about it.

Would be between Zidane and Terra from those i know. And i lean Zidane. Cloud maybe 3rd? Definitely stomps Cecil, Squall, and Tidus at least.

I admit, it would likely be very different if I allowed summons. But as I said, my goal here is a measure of each's own strength and not the strength of their allies.
