Personally, I don't really care for french toast. I mean If you were my host and served it to me I would eat it. But I would never order it on my own.

Pancakes are okay. I don't like how they get soggy towards the end of a tall stack.

Waffles are amazing. With lots of butter and maple syrup. They are made with little pockets to be filled with them. PLUS with the syrup and stuff almost always on the top and none on the plate you are always promised half of every bite will be crispy.

It's hard to place french toast in there because I find french toast really variable. The first batch I make is usually amazing, but every one after that is much weaker. I think it's a heat control thing, but I just can't seem to get the hang of replicating the "put the slices in shortly before the pan is fully up to temperature" thing on subsequent slices.

What I would recommend is if you have a good pan that hold heat, put the bread in the pan and hold it there for a second. Then take it off the heat to toast, then repeat the process. That's how I do my soft scrambled eggs in batches.

French toast by far for me with pancakes as a distant 2nd. I very rarely eat breakfast foods though.
