Honestly I have no fucking idea. I think we decided that Battler presents his mystery and needs to prove the magic is fake and his opponent needs to say it's real? Or something? It's been a while too

Supposedly Battler can defend against magic by disbelieving it, but Phoenix himself doesn't use any kind of magic he'd need to justify. He just... is.

Ace Attorney is a whole lot of nonsense though, if a case was brought up involving actual magic it'd just be another day on the job.

Hopefully there's a Umineko expert around, I think Wright has an advantage here just because most of the board already knows him.

I don't remember what the stipulation was for beating Battler. I think you had to defeat him in a logic game. Phoenix is exactly the type of opponent who would normally do well at this, because Umineko logic games frequently require twisted theories that make no sense. There's an infamous Umineko quote where Battler argues that the victims were killed because they had swallowed "small bombs" - and that theory somehow wasn't able to be disproved.

That sort of thing is commonplace for Phoenix though, so I think he'd have an easy time with this, unless I'm missing something? Really, what's likely to happen is Battler finds his soulmate and the two bond over all the inane garbage they've argued over the years. But since there has to be a winner, I'll vote for Phoenix.
