I think the strangest part is that its all content thats years old at this point. And its not even retrospective, from what I can tell. Its content for Black Panther right when Black Panther came out, for example.

Yeah, this. If somebody was constantly repeating what athlete randos were saying and letting it guide literally all of their thoughts and conversation, then yes, I would tell them to stop watching athlete randos.

That was definitely the best episode of hawkeye yet.

To add a take of my own, I feel as if I like the MCU actors so much I'm inspired to seek out their other stuff. Feels good having seen No Country for Old Men so I know Josh Brolin for more than just playing a big purple man.

Shang-Chi is an exceptionally directed movie. And frankly its really, really impressive when you know that the bus scene was the first scene they shot and Destin Daniel Cretton had never directed an action scene before. Its awesome.

That bus scene was one where I definitely lost my immersion in movie logic. Made no damn sense that bus didn't come to a stop much sooner.

lmao agreed on both counts

Jack encounter really defused a bit too fast, and sure we're getting definite confirmation that Eleanor is entirely involved but I wanted a bit more interaction with Jack while they seem to just be continuing to passively drag him out as the face for definite Eleanor's shadiness.

Soon as Kate reacted to that "alone for the holidays" line and headed over to see Clint I was back to loving this though, she's really looks up to and considers Clint, even figuring out the Ronan history. And Clint really feels like he needs her emotional support in this moment.

LARP stuff... at least was less cringey than last time, I think it works much better with Kate interacting with them and bonus points for using them to progress her costume design ideas from last ep.

Avengers Watch certainly did what I figured from last week, identify Clint as the Ronan, and well 2 episodes left so yeah kinda gotta get that part over with. I got totally caught off-guard at that "you're fighting Maya? I'm fight Maya!" moment. Yelena tho! I like how the fight was a bit of a battle royal with Clint & Maya, and yeah you immediately get the Black Widow tech clueing you in before the mask reveal. Maya/Echo... continues to kinda disappoint for me though, it was a bit of an oh shit moment for Kate's behalf, definitely not ready for her but it didn't go too bad, and then Yelena really shows her up.

Two more things I want to say about Black Widow, not so much regarding the film's quality:

-The more I think about it, Scarlett Johansson feels like the female equivalent of Harrison Ford as someone whose sheer presence is so magnetic you just have to pay attention. And not just because of either's "attractiveness" (yeah Harrison was quite nice-looking when he was younger, but that's besides the point). I guess I mostly note this because Harrison is my favorite actor and the Nostalgia Critic said something to the same effect in his Disneycember review on Black Widow so it makes me feel like I'm not alone (I swear up and down this was my own thought and I'm not just taking from NC!).

-Apparently there were a number of butt shots of the Widows in the film, but I only noticed one and it left me puzzled due to the film's director being female. Then I found out it was intentional because the director thought Scarlett and the other Widows' actresses were attractive and figured it was okay as long as they have agency. I feel like the whole male gaze thing is way overblown and anyways we get to see David Harbour's shapely rear too.

I guess I was just used to it due to the stupid CinemaSins of Josstice League that sinned the movie for an upskirt shot of Wonder Woman saying "a woman would never film her like this".

That's also why I genuinely didn't think there would be any problem with me saying a certain thing about Scarlett Johansson, since I figured merely complimenting an actor (of either gender, honestly the guys aren't a whole lot worse off) on their looks wasn't inherently objectifying. Sorry.

Hawkeye 4: The Boomerang Arrow reference is gonna have me smiling for the rest of the day. I'm really impressed by how well the series has captured the feel of the Fraction run despite the storyline being absolutely nothing like it and having the Clint/Kate dynamic basically reversed.

Oh yeah I completely forgot I brought that up a post later. I guess I keep missing the context. Yes I do watch a lot of YT but I don't watch much CinemaSins anymore because I can only take their overly nitpicking ways so much.

Also thinking about it I suppose it was less about objectifying the actors and more about you guys just not wanting to know. Again, sorry. I meant more in the context of me being increasingly enamored with Scarlett Johansson (again, NOT JUST BECAUSE OF THAT) to the point I want to seek out more of her movies. Which means I guess I should get around to Winter Soldier! Too bad we won't be seeing more of her in the MCU. Or Chadwick.

I feel like I want to explore this franchise and in hindsight I guess just keep shooting myself in the foot asking about stuff without full context. I guess I can watch Civil War sometime to get the full picture on Chadwick Boseman after Winter Soldier.
