ok so i played for a bit heres some thoughts
didnt like helga much switched to reptar and liking him. probably because hes bowserish
you have to remap controls every time you turn the game on. gonna be annoying but maybe profiles or something will come eventually
cant really comment on the netcode. some matches played perfectly others not so much. the competitive/quick play modes dont have wifi indicators though so maybe it was just that :/
possibly a me issue but i was having trouble seeing on some of the stages. that spongebob animal crossing stage was way too bright imo and harmonic convergence has some lights and shit every so often. hated that on final destination
it kinda feels like brawlhalla mixed with smash. of course it might just feel like slap city but i havent played that

My immediate reaction was this was a game that burned its entire budget on securing its cast and then got rushed out with what they could get.

It feels like a game full of a cool concept but that absolutely nobody playtested.

Netcode felt like I was playing Smash.

yeah there are some issues. im hearing the rooftop rumble stage has lag regardless and there might be one sided rollbacks. hope its fixed sooner rather than later or not at all

the 2 unfinished characters are shredder and garfield. big g was kinda expected and great but shredder is eh imo
one of the dlc stages has also been modded in and might just be my favorite

Expected? I never would've guessed Garfield for this game. Is Garfield even a Nickelodeon show?

I wanted to get this, but the roster is bad. I liked the characters they picked, butthats all. Shouldve been way more characters than that. Only two of the four Ninja Turtles, for example, is garbage.

Having a lot of fun with this game so far after day one. The only time I raged was losing to a Lucy who just grabbed you by the ledge, threw you off, and then used her coffin move. She was grabbing me at 0 and killing me with that little combo.

I'm positive I can get some entertainment from watching gameplay clips and stuff, so at least I'll do that.

Hopefully if this sells well enough they would consider making a sequel with better production values. Namely, getting voice actors or sound-alikes. And better shaders.

I love the energy this game has. Everyone has absolutely gross options, but has to extend to get them, giving this crazy rushdown focus and making combos feel a lot more natural than they are in Smash. It really hits the speed and feel of "any hit can end in death" that Melee had, but requiring execution or your opponent falling for your set-up to do so (taking people up off the top with CatDog ladders into Feline Fist feels so much faster than Mario ladders).

It's really scratching an itch for me that Smash has grown to be too defensive to satisfy while remaining pretty accessible. I've missed the sense of faster games with more stocks.

Performance definitely suffers online for certain stages, though. Rooftop definitely has some lag to it that the other neutral stages don't, and some like the Hey Arnold stage feel like a slideshow at times.
