What brands did you buy? I'm partial to CeraVe.

I tend to just moisturize in the morning, followed by some sun screen.

At night I use cleanser, clearasil pads and then moisturize again.

There's also other things you can do. Like change your pillowcases + towels every day or two. It's easier to just buy like 7+ of each and rotate them, and wash them weekly.

Spf24 is okay but I think 50 is the preferred number. I cant look right now but tomorrow Ill find you a link to a good sunscreen that ships from Korea.

Oh yeah "for men" products are usually piece of crap exploiting male insecurities. I once bought a loreal men face soap and it made my face dry af.

So far i have been using dove general body wash to wash my face, i will see if using face cleanser will make it better.

I use a face sponge and brush with soap in the morning and night. Use a pumice stone all over my body when I shower. Anything with shea butter in it works well. Just about everything in Bath & Body Works uses that now. Just find a fragrance you like and buy the body wash, lotion, and body cream.

Keeps my skin moisturized, shiny, soft, and smelling good. These are all things other people tell me, I'm not just talking out of my ass. Think I'm doing good.

Ill take a picture of my routines when I get home, so this is just a tag for now. Ingredients are in general more important than brands, but some brands offer those ingredients in different formulas that make them superior.

Cerave facial cleaner, but I don't really care for it. Once I run out I'll return to my Dr. Bronners

Cerave Skin Renewing Retinol which I'm ok with

Vitamin E

Cell Fusion C from Korea which I'm ehh about. I'm trying to find a sunblock that doesn't make me look like a ghost, and while this one is better than most, I still look half dead.

Morning
Wash facial cleaner
Vitamin E
Sunscreen

Night
Wash facial cleaner
Cerave Skin Renewing Retinol

biggest thing is to figure out how your skin is naturally and avoid sun.

pretty much just use as little stuff on it as possible and only what your skin really needs.

it took me along time to figure my water was fucking up my face and once I got a filtered shower head; I really don't need to do much to keep it in good shape.

I stopped using perfumed soaps a few years ago and that made a lot of difference on its own. Dove sensitive skin soap by itself may be a good start.

Neutrogena Invisible Daily Defense is good for this because the product is skin toned rather than white.

i have eczema so my skin gets dry AS FUCK

  • dye / perfume free soap is essential. something like Dove (or generic). same with lotions, avoid any lotion that has scents.
  • Eucerin is my favorite lotion ever. i use "Advanced Repair" and "Original Healing". the AR is softer and what i use on most of my body (arms, legs, chest, etc). the OH is thicker and what i use on my "problem areas" (the really dry parts) like my feet, hands, knees, etc.
  • put lotion on immediately after taking a shower. the primary job of lotions is to lock in existing moisture, they don't do a great job of adding it to already dry skin.

Heres my morning routine, I start by shaving then from left to right: spot treat (salicylic acid 2%), face wash, shower, hyaluronic acid 2% serum (this is the base layer), next is my actual moisturizer which works for all types of skin, the silver tube is called face and lip tint but it doesnt actually tint and I use it to moisturize my lips, then I top everything off with the sunscreen. This one is SPF 35, Im not really sure what difference it makes to go higher but Im outside for work and this one seems fine?

Heres my evening routine, again from left to right. I start by taking my makeup off with the wipe, then spot treat again, I do these steps about 20 minutes before the rest to give the spot treat some time to work. I dont get bad acne so I dont always use spot treat but if I have a pimple this stuff works wonders. Then I use this charcoal mask and let it sit for about 10 minutes before using the foaming cleanser which also has a 2% salicylic acid formula. I use the hyaluronic acid serum again, then finish with the night cream, the one pictured here is the first one Ive added to the routine but the main thing is you want a long wearing retinol formula, Ill probably try a different one after this one is gone tbh.

wow this seems like advanced stuff. I'll start with cleanser and moisturizer first, then start mess around with toners and stuff before going to serum and shit

Anybody ever heard of Lumin?

First Ive heard of it, Im distrustful of subscription services so I spent some time looking into their ingredients, tons of unnecessary chemical ingredients and alcohol in their moisturizer? I understand the main thing youre paying for with things like this is the convenience of not really needing to put much thought into it but Im not convinced that this is a good product based on the little research Ive done. I also feel in general that products that are marketed to men are held to a weird standard to appeal to masculine ideals when skincare is a universal human concern, so you end up with products that, for example, have added fragrances that are more manly which is just proven to create a worse product.

However, for what this product claims to be the price is pretty decent so it could be worth a shot if you dont want to put the time into creating a tailored routine. The fact is, that using a dedicated facial cleanser and moisturizer is better than not, and for some people the ideal solution is whatever makes it the most simple to acquire those products.

Thank you so much for your response. I've been on the fence a out continuing to use the product for almost a year now. I first heard of them through Facebook and simply signed up from there. What got me was the fact that they seem to not forget about people with a darker skin tone when advertising their product lol.

https://www.buttahskin.com is probably what I'll eventually switch to . . .

I use water. Its worked wonders my entire life. Although the yearly zit/pimple Id get was always in such an awful spot on my face.

Also, after high school I switched to body wash and a loofah type thing.. I highly suggest both to everyone thats not using those.

oh, I shampoo my beard just about every other day.

My husband is an esthetician by trade and will tell you most off the shelf products don't really do much, if not outright harmful to your skin. It's a little pricey but try finding a Dernalogica store or a spa that uses their line.
