Bruer somewhat overlapped with that crew but he was never any focus. He wasn't there in 99. And like I said, he overlapped with that critically acclaimed era but they weren't hitting their stride until after he was already gone. The late 70s were by far the most prolific era for SNL, followed by the late 80s. The mid to late '90s were one of the lowest points in overall viewership and key demo, literally the only star from your list is Will Ferrell.
