There was a lot of edits and censorship as they took a show made for teenagers and edited it to be for 5 year olds, hell the last two episodes were practically entirely new episodes made with chopped together footage in the 4kids version.

Fuck Iizuka and his rotten ass teeth. The Sonic recolor on the left had to be a scrapped new transformation for Sonic. I'm glad it was scrapped, though; Super Sonic was always a shitty DBZ ripoff, so to get a recolor of it would have been so cringe. But we still ended up getting a Super Sonic recolor in Sonic X:

Characters who look like edgy versions of the main character are no better than edgy transformations of the main character. Honestly, I would take edgy transformations over brand new characters; the fewer shitty characters in the cast, the better.

But really, the series should have just been Sonic and Eggman. All these other characters and transformations are teh sucks.

Sonic X really had the potential to be solid, but the humans just ruined it. But while I'll take those animal civilians over the humans, they should have definitely been minor characters, because I can see the show still going to shit if they got major focus lol. I couldn't care less for the CGI Sonic Boom; the redesigns suck and none of the jokes are funny. There's going to be a new CGI Sonic cartoon called Sonic Prime, but that looks stupid, too.

Maaaaaan, even those first 7 minutes are bad. They just remind me of how shitty most of the characters in the Sonic series are; Tails and Amy are annoying bitches, Cream and Cheese are useless, Rouge is just crap for furries to jack off to, Big is trash all around and even Eggman is lame here. So are his robots; you can really see the influence of generic mech anime here.

Those animal civilians in the pilot also look uninspired, as do the robots. I'll still take this over what Sonic X ended up being, but the show would have probably still sucked lol.

Thought about it some more. Chris sucks ass, but it's not like he'd be any better if he were an animal. There being humans in Sonic's world really isn't any worse than there being animals. The series began with Sonic, an animal, and Eggman, a human. Logically, there should have been more animals, and likewise, there should have been more humans. Making Sonic's world different to the humans is unnecessary; that "two worlds" crap is stupid. The world in Sonic should just have animals and coexist; some places can have mostly humans, and some places can have mostly animals.

I remember seeing a trailer for it in 2003 and thinking, "Oh snap, a cartoon show that uses the newer designs and characters! This is gonna be cool!!!" But as soon as I learned that they were gonna center it around realistic people, I knew that it was all downhill. What's with these studios thinking these cartoony characters can't stand on their own? Even as recent as the 2020 Sonic movie, they're still employing the "use real/realistic people to balance the act" philosophy...

But even beyond that, the animation was really stiff; I naively thought it was gonna be on some Sonic CD intro/outro shit, so I guess the show was destined to disappoint regardless lol

Yeah, if they wanted to introduce more humans, they should have been stylized and cartoony like the ones in Billy Hatcher. These characters would fit right in with Sonic's universe:

I mean damn, there are so many cartoony series where humans interact with anthropomorphic animals; why would this be an issue in Sonic? Fucking Mario has humans interacting with anthros; it shouldn't be an issue for Sonic to do it. The real issue is that Sonic Team sucks at writing even remotely likable human characters beyond Eggman. Although I don't like any of the anthros besides Sonic, they're at least cartoony. Why couldn't we get more cartoony characters like Eggman? Smh

Actually y'know I like the idea of Sonic traveling to different worlds/universes/dimensions/etc. He's been doing that since the beginning, really, and why keep his adventures to just one general area?

The issue is that the world Sonic went to in Sonic X was boring as fuck. Really, the realistic setting of the Adventure games sucked ass; terrible premise for a show.
