I randomly watched a YouTube clip of Kingdom Come Deliverance, and it inspired me to try it out.

Oh my god, Im hooked. The medieval simulation/realism, but wrapped in a familiar Elder Scrolls style of open world gameplay has me thinking about it constantly every time I stop playing.

oh I just beat Zero Mission hard mode 15% on Wii U VC

although i wasn't late to it, unless technically you count being late to the VC port

one of these days though I'll get back to beating Vesperia for the first time so that'll be more relevant

After spending line 3 hours on the second boss I feel like I can safely say this is way harder than the Dark Souls games were and I'm worried over whether I'll actually make it through to the end

Playing that now, it's quite good.

I finished South Park: The Fractured but Whole yesterday. I got bored of the show around season 16 or so, came back for season 19, and got bored again in season 22, but I had so much fun with the game that's it's got me back in the mood to watch the show again.

Also, if the super moves ranking topic ever gets a sequel, I am totally nominating Craig and Tweek's shared super for when they're both in the party.

Sly Cooper. Seems like an interesting series and I wish I had played it back in the day.

Finally got around to playing the extremely popular "Eviternity" custom level pack for Doom 2, which came out a couple years ago. It's as good as people have been telling me it is, pretty much instantly my favorite wad, only halfway through so far.

So I think I figured out what is so appealing about Kingdom Come, just philosophically.

The game doesnt go out of its way to be difficult, but it genuinely doesnt care about being for everyone.

I dont mean accessibility, Id be fine with more accessibility options (and it may have them, I havent checked), just that it has a vision and sticks to it, not sacrificing the vision for a broader audience.

Reminds me of Arx Fatalis, Arkane Studios first game, in that way.

I'm perpetually late to the party on most games, hardly ever play anything until at least a year after release anymore, so this is certainly the topic for me.

Just finished Super Meat Boy the other day and was very much not impressed. Don't think that game's aged well in the wake of all the great indie platformers that have come in the decade since its release.

Also in the process of finishing up Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones after starting a playthrough in early 2020 and getting sidetracked. Always an interesting series because I feel like most entries have one or two aspects that they do better than most or all other games in the series, but I don't think I can say that about SS. It's just kind of solid all around. Think it's gonna end up being pretty low on my franchise ranking unless the last few chapters just wow me somehow.

still my favorite game in the series. A lot of people say DQXI perfects what this game does, but I kind of disagree. I really like the environments/towns/sidequests better here. Maybe the characters too.

As for me, I finally am trying to finish Hyper Light Drifter. I first got this like two years ago and just was not in the right headspace for a game with punishing combat and no hand-holding. It really bothered me at the time that the game wouldn't even try to explain simple stuff like currency/upgrades and other gameplay mechanics. My problem, I think, was that I was trying to play it like Zelda when I needed to play it like Dark Souls.

I've been playing Fall Guys a ton with my friends and I'm honestly having a blast. All 3 of us love battle royales conceptually and Fall Guys just feels the most "fair" and fun all around.

Been working on Xenoblade DE and Kirby Super Star lately. Ive played the latter before in its DS version but Xenoblade I barely touched on Wii.

Having finished Strikers now, definitely agree. It's the best spin off to come out of P3/4/5 easily. Just a thoroughly solid action RPG and Sophia and Zenkichi are great additions to the cast.

Finshed Kirby Super Star, on to Dream Land 3 now.

Just had my first victory in Fall Guys, in Squad Trios!

Last game was basketfall and that was quite fun! Played defense most of the round but also scored a basket. The round before that was also teams; pushing ball to the end, and we got ours in first.

The race events were... two of the new jungle ones (lily leapers round 4, the other one round 1) and the twirling cylinder race thingy. The elimination round was rhinos.

So yeah, finally got my first win! Not a solo win, but very fun nonetheless!

Yep. Gameplay is better, I actually like how they only have you do armor for your main. Maps are lazily repetitive but doesnt hurt things that much for me.

New characters are good (I count Isabella in this even though we saw her before) Anders is terrible and goes against the epilogue of both him and Justice in Awakening.

Story is interesting with the time jumps and very different story beats but I'd say DA:O was better for that.

I've also heard some things that make me worried where it is going.

I've now started Batman: Arkham Knight, and it's taking some getting used to so far because the controls have been switched around from the previous games. The big ones that keep tripping me up are 1. detective mode being on Up now instead of L1, 2. objectives and challenges having their own tabs on Left and Right and I can never remember which is which, and 3. I keep pressing R2 when I want to run, even though running is on X and R2 is crouch. That last one's particularly baffling to me because those controls haven't changed, so I don't why I keep making that mistake.

I started Outer Wilds last night. I was partially inspired to play it because of that poll a while back here that was like "which was the last game that impressed you?" or something. Pretty interesting so far, not sure what I think about it yet though.

Finished the main game of Kirby's Dream Land 3. On to Kirby 64! (I've been making my way through the Dream Collection on Wii, so this will be the end of that.)

I feel like for every half hour of cut scenes I get one fight and then another half hour of cut scenes. Everything is so slow.

Yakuza games tend to be pretty frontloaded with cutscenes, it'll eventually open up more.

I dont know anyone who plays it outside my friend group, but Rogue Company is so good.

Every few months I end up binging crusader kings 3

its crazy Ive played for around 140 hours now and theres still things I find out I never knew.

Did you know you can reform Catholicism and all Christian sects into one Christian faith if you control roughly the entire world? I found that out today! I also bet maybe one person ever has done it!

Been playing Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. Have tried out every civilization in a Random Map game except for the Burmese. Will rectify that today.

Yep, it's the worst part of the game and I dont use him much because his banter makes me sad for how radically different it is.
