Is Mac Jones already the greatest Pats QB of all-time?

It's a little early but cuts are happening and rosters are being finalized.

The Pats cut Cam after a great preseason from Mac Jones. I haven't been this excited for a rookie QB since ever.

Greatest Patriots QB was Matt Cassel who tried to restore honor, credibility, and dignity to the franchise and was quickly and brutally traded away from the team for it with the Patriots quickly resuming their cheating ways.

I wonder who picks Cam up. There are a few teams who could use an upgrade at backup.

I've heard buzz about Dallas but there's no way they take him if he's anti-vax. That said if you're gonna be a backup anywhere to help your post-career brand, Dallas is the way to go.

And Cam can hit WRs just fine, you just have to run the Mark Sanchez max protect offense.

I hoped Cam would work out. ah well.

Washington's vaccination rate has gone up significantly. 90% last I heard. Doubt Rivera would bring him in, after not bringing him in last year. My co-worker seems to think Washington's a likely destination too, though.

I believe teams with the lowest rates are Vikings, Colts, Cardinals, and Bills now. Don't quote me on that though.

AFC:

North:

Ravens
Browns
Bengals
Steelers

West:

Chiefs
Chargers
Raiders
Broncos

South

Titans
Colts
Jags
Texans

East

Bills
Dolphins
Patriots
Jets

NFC:

North

Packers
Bears
Vikings
Lions

West (Every team in this division could easily go over .500)

Rams
49ers
Seahawks
Cardinals

South

Buccaneers
Saints
Panthers
Falcons

East

Cowboys
WFT (Fitz might actually be the second best QB in the division...)
Eagles
Giants

NFC East was hard, because the bottom 3 could win anywhere from 3 games to 8 and it wouldn't surprise me at all, but it's the Cowboys then everything else. I think every team in the NFC West is a playoff contender. Every team in the AFC West could win 8 games or more. AFC North had the hardest division winner to pick. I mainly still went with the Ravens just because Cleveland is Cleveland.

Playoffs:

Chiefs
Bills
Ravens
Titans

Browns
Chargers
Colts

Rams
Bucs
Packers
Cowboys

49ers
Seahawks
Bears

The 49ers were so much better than their record but had the injury bug to an insane degree. Colts and Bears have the defense to get into the playoffs even with middling QB play. (The Colts also have the Jags and Texans, two dumpster fires, in their division.) Chargers with Herbert were suddenly a good team and they learned how to close games. They had that big clunker in NE, but they followed that with 3 consecutive 3 point wins.

The Colts have a much easier division but a much worse schedule than the Dolphins, so I could see Miami, who I believe overachieved last year, riding that to take the spot. The Dolphins get the middling NFC South. The Colts get the murderer's row NFC West.

Cam Newton is, unfortunately, done. He'll get some minimum contract on a team that probably won't ever play him barring injury and just get cut after the season.

Which is a shame because he seems to "get it" a lot more than he used to, but his body just isn't there anymore.

It's such a shame yeah, I remember the brief few weeks where cam was the best I've ever seen him, even better than his mvp season, passing-wise. It was the first season norv turner was the OC at carolina and things were great, he was accurate for the first time in his career and he looked like he could be even better than he was before. Then his shoulder gave out and everything went to hell.

Reminder: Cameron Newton, in the biggest game of his career, failed to dive on a critical fumble because he was SCARED. He quit on the team when their backs were against the wall. His career ended there.

My anal cavity is still recovering from that moment in NFL history.

The Lions didn't want Goff. It was just part of the deal for the Rams to get Stafford.

Bridgewater is probably better overall than Cam at this point, but he can't throw deep either and Lock is not good.

if Lock got benched for Bridgewater, he's doo doo

Bridgewater is also not starter caliber by any means.

We'll see how Goff does in a non-McVay system but I'd take him in a heartbeat over what we've seen of Cam recently

Bridgewater was fine last season, I think he's more than capable of being an average starting QB, which lots of teams would love. He was never deserving of the deal the panthers gave him but he didn't deserve to be moved on from either.

Bridgewater is a good defining point of "Slightly above average quarterback"

He's perfectly serviceable on a good enough team.

Bridgewater is at his best as a game manager. That's not even remotely a bad thing to be. It's good to have a QB that can do enough to keep things favorable for a team. Carolina wasn't built for such playing so he rarely showed it; New Orleans was built for it and is why he looked so good while there(which in turn earned him his contract from Carolina).

I would not call Bridgewater above average

he's below the Dalton line if you ask me. a good stopgap but not a QB that you have and think "yeah, we don't need to look for a new QB"

I thought the storyline there was he was injured, and that he came in despite the injury in the playoffs and ultimately helped them win (though it was more the defense)

But we will see how he does in Detroit with Hockenson and

This years broncos team is basically an attempt at remaking the last super bowl team. If the Defense performs up to the level expected they can carry a team with a mediocre game manager.

Especially since Brodgewater will have some good young weapons around him to help.
