Well, I guess that pretty much confirms Omega's role in the company is the same as A-chan. A-chan outright says they have similar position.

Am I the only person here who has never watched a Hololive stream live as it happened? I don't see a reason to base a schedule around them when they'll be available on demand afterwards. I guess being able to participate in the chat is a reason to be there live, but I don't really care about that.

I usually put streams on the background while I do other stuff, be them vtubers or otherwise.

That's the main reason why I don't watch the JP streamers other than through clips.

Interaction is the big draw to me, it's why I... honestly don't watch Hololive any more by and large, aside from Calli and occasionally Kiara. Their times just don't agree with my schedule. Since they debuted I've pretty much only been watching NijiEN, from the big group vtubers anyway.

Mostly I like it live because I get annoyed and feel I have to comment, its satisfying the few times they read em and corrected whatever was driving me nuts.

Anyway, managed to catch bits of 4 out of 5 of them live. Liked the voices of the rat and (?) the one I thought was a moth, the Batman joke earlier. I mostly agree with cyric on that point. Hard to really tell what they will be like once they relax and get rolling.

Live just feels more spontaneous, like anything could happen. Generally I just keep it in the background though. I won't go out of my way to catch a stream live, but if I have the availability then I might as well.

This stream's been pretty hilarious. Selen's been mostly panicking about fights for the past 15~20 minutes and it's been hilarious.

She also keeps trying to engage chat and every time she does the game starts throwing shit at her.

If the speculation about her previous life is true, she used to be a Youtuber with 1M subs who also had a vtuber avatar, so I'd assume she'd have some experience.

Her last channel might've gone stagnant. Being in Hololive gives you a lot of resources and room for growth. Plus it's a great way to meet new people and form connections.

There's a lot of benefits working under an umbrella that can do background work for you, and probably hit you the same sub count within a... less than a year timespan. Especially when they can do things like set you up with new ideas on what to play, manage your growth, better moderation on chat, so on. An indie vtuber I watched regularly before they quit talked about how hard it is to manage all that and still want to put work in and maintain a normal life. Right now it's very much a "make it, or it'll break you" industry since the startup cost to even get noticed as a vtuber is pretty hefty unless you buy cast-off models.
