So either the rumors are wrong about Tobey and Andrew returning as their Spider-Man roles or they're holding that reveal off for a future trailer (I guess this is only supposed to be a teaser). Which is a bit silly if it is true because everyone is talking about it

Also, anyone else get the feeling that Dr. Strange is going to be a bad guy in this movie? Like maybe he's been replaced by a Variant or a Skrull or it's Mordo in disguise or something? Because his actions in this trailer seem really bad and in poor judgment. There's also scenes where it looks like he's attacking Peter, and not in a "it's for your own good" sort of way.

theyre definitely just holding off on showing other spider-men. Doc Oclock is probably talking to Tobey at the end of the trailer.

and I dont think theres any big reveal for Strange in this. Its just going to be an actual mistake, maybe because of the events of Loki.

Now THAT is how you do a trailer, damn! Shange Chi has been looking better and more exciting and now this Spider Man trailer just knocks it out of the park. For a hot minute there Eternals (and to some extent Black Widow and Loki) had me questioning why I like Marvel and if the movies even have a future, but this why I love the MCU. Pretty sure Shang Chi is going to knock it out, (92% on RT right) now and So will Far From Home.

It might not be the real Doctor Strange, but it absolutely shouldn't be Mordo. He left the Sanctum and the Sorcerers because he was disgusted by The Ancient One and Strange tampering with dangerous magic. I can absolutely buy it being a variant or Mephisto or maybe even Strange just messed with the wrong magic at the wrong time, but I'll be very disappointed it they try to sell this as Mordo's fault.

I'd be willing to bet that nothing in that trailer is more than a third of the way through the film, and it might even all be in the first 20 minutes. Also nothing we were shown in the trailer indicates anyone else might be to blame for the spell going awry, like say Wanda warping reality, Sylvie killing Kang, or anything else we don't know about yet.

I'm interested in Shang-Chi and Eternals, but I have to say that trailer has me a lot more hyped up. I think it's just nice to see the next big movie with characters I'm already attached to.

Actually, in the comics, Peter really went to Dr. Strange with that exact wish, and Strange was like, LOL no. So Peter, in his infinite wisdom, decided to accept an offer from Mephisto to grant his wish. No, really!

That said, it is a little weird for him to agree to something like this, but it's possible there's either a good reason, or that Strange actually isn't casting the spell at all and is just trying to teach Peter a lesson. He could be faking it to get him to admit that it's not actually what he wants and the inciting event is something else entirely, who knows?

Yeah, I don't necessarily take issue with him being reckless or overestimating his own abilities. It was something else I was wrong about...!

I dunno. My main impression was that Doctor Strange felt like a character who started irresponsible, but learned responsibility and humility during his first movie. I was thinking of more his appearance in Infinity War (and to an extent, also Thor Ragnarok) where he took his responsibilities much more seriously, to the point that he was kind of a buzzkill. I viewed it as his character development. I guess it might not considered out of character for him to still be irresponsible but it feels like a slide back which why it feels so weird to me.

Back to doing more retread over source material but this time doing it in a way that really added a lot of intrigue to each revisited scene and I loved it. Surprised to say I can't say which episode I preferred between this week's and the last.

Not sure though about the Pym reveal... it was a great scene for Fury even knowing it's obviously not his feats on display there but it was badass. Evil Pym was great and felt pretty in-character with the circumstance... However, I was expecting a more intentioned reason behind taking on the Avengers Initiative specifically, with actual knowledge behind who they really become. Felt like some of these assassinations should require some actual knowledge of the targets, and then there's just Thor who was apparently a total guess that Fury would recruit him.

Also nice seeing Betty Ross again, though kinda messed with my head to have her with Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. My brain was totally prepared to see Edward Norton.

I really liked this episode. It really cool seeing a lot of the origin stories revisited and twisted. And hell yeah more Coulson! So was the single change the death of Hope? Also I didn't remember her being a shield aganet <_<

I heard a lot of reviews saying the third episode was the worst out of the preview batch, but I really enjoyed it! The reveal of Hank being the murderer was really cool, and I liked the ending. The What If stories being free to not be wrapped up in a nice little bow is refreshing, but that hopeful idea of Captain America and Captain Marvel teaming up to save the world from Loki is inherently exciting. I wonder if some of these stories will get sequels in Season 2? I don't think it's necessary; it's okay for these threads to be left hanging, but it would be interesting.

I found it kind of weird they gave each Avenger their own specially designed coffin with logos on them... even the guy they barely knew.

I thought she nailed the Widow man-voice thing that SJ does. There is something generally off here with the editing of clips in terms of the timing between lines in this show, but I think the delivery from Lake Bell was great at least.
